Reporting to the Vice President, Finance, the Manager, Finance will provide strategic leadership to a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous development. This role is critical in driving transformation across our finance function, with a strong focus on automation, systems implementation, process optimization, and team development to support the organization's continued growth.
We're seeking a strategic finance leader with a CPA designation, strong accounting expertise, and a proven track record of leading high-performing teams. This role is ideal for someone passionate about driving transformation and leveraging automation to scale operations as our organization continues to grow.
Hybrid working model based out of our Winnipeg, MB office, with three days in-office per week.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and inspire a high-performing accounting team, supporting professional growth through coaching, mentoring, and tailored development plans
Oversee core accounting functions including month-end close, financial reporting, and compliance
Identify and implement opportunities to automate and streamline accounting processes, improving operational efficiency and scalability
Evaluate, select, and lead the implementation of financial systems and technologies to enhance automation and integration across platforms
Establish and monitor key performance indicators to measure process effectiveness and progress toward improvement goals
Collaborate across departments and manage internal and external resources to ensure alignment and optimal performance
Champion a continuous improvement mindset and lead change initiatives within the finance function
Qualifications
CPA designation required, with a minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
Minimum of 5 years in a direct people leadership role, with a proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
Demonstrated success in finance transformation initiatives, including systems implementation and automation projects.
Strong understanding of financial principles, regulations, and best practices.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience managing cross-functional relationships.
Proficiency in process improvement methodologies and advanced Excel skills.
Insurance industry experience is a significant asset.
