Position Summary



The Manager, Finance ensures the financial stability and operational efficiency of the OWHA. This role oversees budgeting, financial planning, reporting, and grant management, while supporting strategic initiatives and ensuring compliance with policies, safety standards, and fiscal accountability.

Key Responsibilities



Develop, manage, and monitor annual and program-specific budgets.

Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general financial administration.

Prepare accurate and timely financial reports and audit materials.

Lead short- and long-term financial planning to support strategic goals.

Identify and pursue grant and sponsorship opportunities; manage applications and reporting.

Ensure compliance with financial policies, insurance requirements, and safety protocols.

Support risk management initiatives and maintain proper records management practices.

Contribute to policy development, privacy management, and safe sport initiatives.

Collaborate across departments to ensure efficient project delivery within budget.

Skills & Competencies



Proven experience in budgeting, financial management, and grant administration.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Ability to translate data and research into actionable insights.

Demonstrated initiative and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Commitment to diversity, inclusion, and safe sport principles.

Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and financial management software.

Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.

Valid driver's license and ability to handle light material transport.

Education & Experience



Post-secondary education in Business, Finance, or Accounting.

Minimum of three years of experience in financial management, preferably in a non-profit or sport organization.

Experience in grant writing, event coordination, and stakeholder engagement is an asset.

Knowledge of women's hockey, sport management, or experience promoting female sport is preferred.
