We're looking for a Manager, Finance to lead the accounting controllership for our Sobeys Alberta Central Kitchen. If you're passionate about financial accuracy, operational excellence, and building strong internal controls, this is your opportunity to drive value and make a difference.



Here's what you'll be focusing on:



Oversee all accounting operations at Alberta Central Kitchen, including strong internal controls, reconciliations, and approvals of accounting transactions, ensuring adherence to Sobeys policies. Develop, implement, and continuously improve procedures and system controls over accounting transactions that mitigate risk, and support scalability. Produce daily, weekly, and monthly financial recaps for the Alberta Central Kitchens production operations team, measuring against budget and standards, including communicating analyses of variances to relevant stakeholders at the production facility and within Sobeys. Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of Central Kitchens operations. Manage the preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts for Alberta Central Kitchen operations, coordinating input from cross-functional stakeholders. Provide financial analysis as needed and identify/recommend opportunities to drive value for the organization. Supervise daily accounting deliverables for Central Kitchen team, including: all transactions, inventories, and expenses. Perform additional related duties as required to support evolving business needs.

What you should have:



CPA designation or post-secondary education in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting or related field, plus a minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or operations-based accounting environments is an asset. Strong knowledge of Cost Accounting principles.

Strong analytical and Excel/ERP skills (SAP or similar system experience preferred).

Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both Finance and Non-Finance partners. Ability to multi-task and practice proactive problem solving. Ability to work well both independently and as a team member.
