Department: Facilities Operations (Building Services, Plant Operations, Security & Switchboard) Position Status: Full-Time Permanent Union: Non-Union Number of Positions: 1 HOURS OF WORK: Hours of work are primarily Monday to Friday daytime hours. There are times when an on-site presence will be required during off-hours in light of the fact that the health centre is a 24/7 business. Work is performed in an office environment as well as in clinical inpatient/outpatient units. On occasion some work may be performed outside. Travel is required occasionally. WHAT YOU\xe2\x80\x99LL DO: Reporting to the Director, Capital Planning & Development, Facilities Operations Manager is responsible for the daily operations for the Health Centre\xe2\x80\x99s major building systems including building services, plant operations, site maintenance, switchboard, and security operations.

WHAT YOU\xe2\x80\x99LL BRING:

  • At least 3 years management experience in a healthcare environment
  • Baccalaureate degree with specialization in business, architecture, engineering,
OR equivalent post-secondary degree or diploma in trades; or combination of education and work experience
  • Membership and participation in a relevant professional organization preferred (i.e. PMP, CHES, IFMA, FMP, BOMI)
WHO YOU ARE:
  • Experience working within Broader Public Sector Procurement Directives
  • Knowledge of collective agreements.
  • Thorough understanding of the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) and those that apply to health care facilities
  • Familiar with the technical equipment requirements from major vendors (i.e. clinical systems, TSSA regulated equipment, etc).
  • In addition, full understanding of:
    • The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE),
    • The Electrical Safety Authority (ESA),
    • The Technical standards and Safety Authority (TSSA),
    • The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA),
    • Peterborough Public Health (PPH),
    • Ministry of Labour (MOL),
    • Ministry of Health (MOH),
    • Ontario Building Code
    • and other Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) mandates.
  • Broad understanding of maintenance practices, particularly in an industrial and/or healthcare environment.
  • Strong team building skills to achieve organizational goals; communicates with and motivates a team to achieve results.
  • Strong facilitating and negotiation skills to resolve conflict.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills required to adjust to and meet unpredictable deadlines or changing priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with medical/ administrative staff at various levels at PRHC and consulting professionals.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
