Job Description

Humber Meadows is a new, fully integrated Long Term Care Home with 320 licensed long stay beds. Inspired by the expansive and boundless natural meadows that surround our home, Humber Meadows is a place where you can thrive. Here, residents, families, and team members are encouraged to grow, connect, and experience the joy of living in a safe, home-like environment.

To support our new build Home, Humber Meadows is looking for an experienced Manager, Facilities.

Are you a proactive leader passionate about facility and environmental management? As Manager, Facilities, you'll ensure the safe, sustainable, and smooth operation of our Home. Reporting to the Executive Director, you'll oversee environmental systems, emergency preparedness, and regulatory compliance--creating a safe and welcoming environment for residents, families, and team members.

The salary range for this role is $90,000 - $105,000

As the Manager, Facilities, you will be the driving force behind the management and maintenance of our Home's physical environment. Your primary responsibility is to ensure that all facility systems--including heating, cooling, plumbing, electrical, life safety, and structural components--operate safely, efficiently, and sustainably. Working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners, including Humber River Health, you will implement comprehensive environmental management strategies and maintain regulatory compliance.

Oversee the safe and efficient operation of all facility equipment and systems, including electrical infrastructure, chillers, boilers, air handlers, generators, and the Building Automation System (BAS). Develop, implement, and manage a Preventive Maintenance Program to ensure uninterrupted service delivery and timely repairs or replacements. Provide 24/7 onsite emergency response coverage and maintain real-time communication during facility emergencies. Lead the development, review, and management of facilities policies, procedures, and standard operating protocols, ensuring alignment with legislation and best practices. Champion energy management initiatives focused on efficiency and sustainability, maintaining accurate documentation. Collaborate closely with your colleagues and members of the Humber River Health team to align facility operations and emergency preparedness efforts. Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and organizational policies. Develop and maintain a multi-year capital plan that balances cost-effectiveness, environmental stewardship, and resident comfort. Manage vendor relationships, coordinate repairs and inspections, prepare proposals and cost estimates, and oversee contract administration. Supervise and support a dedicated team, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous learning. Ensure resident rooms are ready for admissions, transfers, and move-outs, contributing to a high-quality resident experience. Lead and maintain the Home's Emergency Preparedness Plan, including staff training, mock drills, and equipment readiness, in compliance with regulations. Develop and maintain the Home's Hazard Identification Risk Assessment (HIRA) and collaborate on local disaster preparedness initiatives. Serve as an active member of the management team, contributing to strategic planning and organizational development. Model professional, relationship-based care and foster strong connections with residents, families, and care partners, reinforcing a culture of trust and safety.
