Reporting to the Director, Asset Management and Facilities Maintenance, the Manager, Facilities Maintenance, is a member of the Maintenance management team. This role provides both technical and leadership expertise to maintain critical infrastructure that supports airport operations and partner activities. In this role, the Manager participates in the development and delivery of the annual business plan and capital life cycle replacement program. This position leads a diverse group of employees responsible for the operation and maintenance of the multiple systems throughout the airport. The Facilities Maintenance department must balance regulation and operational reliability with cost-effective delivery and a focus on customer service.

You might be wondering what you can expect in a typical day at work. Every day will bring new opportunities, focusing on key responsibilities, including:
Develop and execute integrated maintenance plans aligned with YEG's operational strategy, establishing clear performance measures and driving results through structured monitoring and reporting.
Manage the maintenance and operation of terminal infrastructure, including plumbing, HVAC, structural systems, central utility plant (heating and chilled water systems), and water and waste water utilities, ensuring reliability and regulatory compliance.
Oversee large-scale maintenance and utility-related contracts, ensuring quality, compliance, cost efficiency, and performance through strong relationships and open-book transparency.
Develop and maintain long-term Asset Management Plans (AMP), integrating condition assessments, lifecycle planning, and capital renewal strategies to support operational and sustainability objectives.
Optimize energy, water, and utility performance while supporting YEG's sustainability commitments by embedding sustainability principles into maintenance and operational practices.
Manage operating and capital budgets, including forecasting, performance reporting, and cost optimization to support informed decision-making and financial accountability.
Build, coach, and retain a high-performing team while creating the leadership capacity to engage meaningfully with team members, fostering collaboration, open dialogue, and continuous improvement.
Transition YEG's maintenance programs from reactive to proactive and predictive using data-driven insights and emerging technologies to improve system resilience and enhance passenger experience.
