Position Title Manager, Facilities Required Qualifications
Diploma in a recognized program of building technology.
Minimum five years\' experience managing building operations and maintenance, including minimum two years in a supervisory capacity in a similar environment.
Working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety and Workers Compensation Board regulations.
Knowledge of recognized construction codes and regulations including Alberta Building Code, Electrical Code and Power Engineering Regulations.
Familiarity and knowledge of energy efficient technologies.
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
Proficient in computer usage and general office equipment.
Thorough knowledge of building management including the operation of plumbing systems, electrical systems, heating plant, air handling systems and other related building components and systems.
Ability to prepare accurate estimates for construction and repair projects, interpret blueprints, schematics and construction drawings.
Ability to inspect work for conformance to work plans, and established standards to supervise the work of others, including sub-contractors.
A self-starter who is able to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to interact well with others; deal tactfully with staff, project stakeholders and the general public.
An equivalent combination of education, experience, and knowledge acceptable by the College may also be considered. Preferred Qualifications
Diploma in a recognized program of building technology and or a trade certification in an associated building field. Project management designation (PMP, CAPM) or experience managing large construction, maintenance projects is preferred.
Minimum 7 years of experience managing building operations and maintenance, including minimum 4 years in a supervisory capacity in a similar environment. A combination of related education and work experience may also be accepted.
Department Facilities and Asset Management

Facilities and Asset Management is currently recruiting for a Manager, Facilities. Reporting to Director, Facilities and Asset Management, this position oversees facilities operations for all aspects of the interior and exterior maintenance; and cleaning operations throughout all College facilities. This includes grounds maintenance, the building services (light, heat, water and electrical), repairs/ replacement/upgrades to classroom and office equipment, general repairs including floors, walls, plumbing, custodial operations and the maintenance of staff and student housing units, and all regional learning centres at Keyano College and Fort Chipewyan.
In this position, the incumbent will:
Advise, compose summary reports and present to Senior management technical requirements of services within the mandate of the Facilities Department.
Attend College meetings and or other meetings as a resource and/or representative of the College as required.
Develop and monitor the attainment of division\'s goals and objectives to support the College Institutional Plan.
Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, grounds landscaping and parking lot maintenance.
Maintain and promote an effective department safety program, which adheres to all WCB, Occupational Health and Safety regulations, including College policies and other requirements.
Participate in College emergency response activities and committees.
Liaise with internal College departments and stakeholders to plan and meet operational need within the Facilities mandate.
Manage internal team resources in order to effectively and efficiently resolve requests in a timely manner. In addition, communicate the current status, expected completion and follow-up required of the work requests to the stakeholders.
Participate in the budget planning and administration process and ensure all Facilities costs are within budgetary parameters.
Perform site inspections of College sites on a regular basis; record and address maintenance concerns encountered.
Prepare and maintain preventive maintenance records, service contracts, equipment inventory records, and work orders both manually and with the Colleges computerized asset management system.
Ensure all building safety systems including life safety systems are inspected and maintained as required by the authority having jurisdiction.
