The Opportunity
This role reports to the Senior Manager, Procurement & Expediting and is accountable for the leadership and oversight of TCE's expediting team located in the US and Canada.
The team supports the timely and effective execution of TCE capital projects and the reliable and sustainable operations of TCE's assets. The expediting function at TCE supports hundreds of millions of dollars in annual capital growth, GPMC, maintenance and integrity program projects as well as operations with the expediting of material purchases.
This position provides exposure to TCE's business unit, projects, operations and technical service senior stakeholders. The role is an excellent opportunity to directly impact TCE's bottom line results through advanced planning, collaboration, innovative solutions, efficient management and optimization of material orders across the US and Canada.
As a key leader, the Expediting Manager will develop a high level of subject matter expertise and be accountable for the oversight of team workloads, prioritization, productivity, performance management, troubleshooting and issue resolution, as well as minor conflict resolution. In addition to their direct reports, this leadership role will also be required to indirectly lead and influence several stakeholders and peers.
This role will require minimal travel, primarily to TCE office locations in Canada & the US.
What You'll Do
Lead and mentor expediting teams across three locations in the US and Canada
Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment
Conduct regular team meetings to ensure alignment and address any challenges
Develop and implement strategic plans for expediting processes
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and services
Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to drive continuous improvement
Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders
Communicate effectively with team members, suppliers, and business partners
Resolve conflicts and negotiate solutions to ensure project success
Identify opportunities for process optimization and implement best practices
Lead initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
Stay updated with industry trends and incorporate innovative solutions
Prepare and present regular reports on expediting activities and performance
Ensure accurate documentation and records are maintained for audit and compliance purposes
Ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
At least 10-years related experience in expediting or supply chain management
Preferred Qualifications
Proven leadership and team management skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Experience with conflict resolution and problem-solving tools and processes
Ability to coach and lead a team of direct reports
Able to work under tight deadlines, with demonstrable strong time management and priority setting skills
