Job Details:
Position Title: Manager, ETS Testing Services
Status: Full-Time Admin Temp Contract (14 months)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Faculty/Department: Education and Training Solutions
Campus/Location: Hybrid arrangement; combination of remote work and in-person at North, Lakeshore, and Carrier Dr. campuses
Starting Salary: $95,579.00
About the Manager, ETS Testing Services Role:
Under the general direction of the Dean, the Manager, ETS Testing Services is responsible for the effective and efficient operation of Testing Services at Humber's Education & Training Solutions (ETS) department and the broader Polytechnic. This includes ACCUPLACER admission testing process, admission and placement testing, credential testing, accommodated testing, as well as external testing offered by the department.
The incumbent works closely with appropriate stakeholders to integrate policies and procedures that support inclusive, efficient, and effective learner service in the areas of testing and accessible learning. With support from appropriate stakeholders, the incumbent is responsible for the further implementation of technical solutions to automate and modernize business processes. The incumbent plays both a proactive and consultative role to ensure that ETS Testing Services are operating effectively.

Education
The ideal candidate will possess a 4 year Bachelor's degree
Experience
Five years of experience in a post-secondary student affairs environment with a dedicated commitment to inclusive customer service.
The incumbent also has an in-depth understanding of equity principles and working knowledge of key legislation such as Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), Ontario Human Rights Code, Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, etc.
The incumbent is experienced working in diverse population and demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills to deal with sensitive issues that may involve learners, vendors, and partners, while proving excellent analytical skills and the ability to synthesize complex issues with competing priorities.
The successful candidate can supervise and manage the work of others, including addressing performance issues; possesses highly developed oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills. The incumbent can act independently with little supervision, has strong technology skills, ability and willingness to quickly learn new programs, and has knowledge of spreadsheets and database programs.
Skills

  • Proven expertise in usage of MS Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint, and related compensation data management tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills including consultative and relationship management skills as well as presentation skills
  • Experience in a post-secondary student affairs environment with a dedicated commitment to inclusive customer service
  • Proven ability to supervise and manage the work of others, including addressing performance issues
  • Proven budgetary skills
  • An in-depth understanding of equity principles and experience working in diverse populations
  • Strong technology skills, ability and willingness to quickly learn new programs, knowledge of spreadsheets and database programs
