About the role


As a Manager, Enterprise Risk Management ("Manager"), you will be an integral part of a team of professionals responsible for leading the continued maturation of CDIC's enterprise risk management ("ERM") program. The Manager will provide support to the Director, ERM and play a critical role in leading the day-to-day implementation of CDIC's ERM framework. You will work closely with various departments to ensure that risk management practices are integrated across the Corporation and lead the development and enhancement of core ERM activities.

This role can be performed from our Ottawa or Toronto offices, following a hybrid model approach. This is a full-time permanent opportunity.


CORE RESPONSIBILITIES required for this role


Lead risk management activities to enable the identification, assessment, monitoring, and reporting of key risks across the Corporation. Build relationships and partner with key stakeholders on processes, risk and controls to collaboratively identify, and implement, effective risk management activities and controls. Support the operationalization of the risk appetite framework, assessing its effectiveness and identifying opportunities for continued improvement. Provide risk advisory support and oversight on key projects, initiatives, and business processes. Lead the maturation and growth of risk management tools through the development and review of risk policies, procedures, and processes. Provide risk reporting on key risks, the effectiveness of controls/mitigations, and status of actions. Develop presentations and provide insights to senior management on risk management programs. Conduct risk awareness training/workshops to enhance enterprise-wide understanding of ERM and to promote and nurture a strong risk culture. Integrate ERM inputs into the corporate planning process and annual report to support the alignment of risk and strategy.

Strong work ethic and a willingness to go above and beyond Ability to work independently and proactively with limited supervision Knowledge and understanding of ERM frameworks (e.g., ISO 31000, COSO, etc.) or other internally developed risk frameworks Ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills Strong communicator with excellent verbal and written communication skills Knowledge of CDIC, including its mandate, powers and operations will be considered an asset





SKILLS you bring




Post-secondary degree or diploma with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience Risk management and/or internal audit certifications will be considered an asset

Security Clearance: Eligibility to obtain a Secret-level security clearance
