About the role


As the Manager, Enterprise Architect & Governance, you will lead the definition, maintenance, and governance of the organization's technology architecture. You will make sure that business strategies and technology investments are aligned, sustainable, and well governed. You will also oversee architectural governance across the company, manage technology intake, and lead the Architecture Review Board.


In this role, you will create enterprise architecture frameworks, standards, and practices to guide IT decisions. You will also manage IT governance processes to ensure accountability, compliance, and value from technology projects. As a link between business leaders and IT teams, you will develop the technology roadmap to support the organization's goals, make the best use of resources, and encourage innovation.




This role can be performed from our Ottawa office, following a hybrid model approach. This is a full-time permanent opportunity.


CORE RESPONSIBILITIES required for this role


The incumbent is expected to operate at a strategic and tactical level with minimal direction. The role requires:


Establishing a clear vision for the enterprise and business architecture and ensuring alignment with corporate and IT strategies and guidelines. Defining technology roadmaps that guide investment decisions and future capabilities and maximize efficiency and efficacy. Implementing governance structures and processes to enforce technology policies and standards, monitor IT performance, security, compliance, and risk management. Partnering with executives and business leaders to ensure technology solutions deliver measurable value. Providing leadership and mentorship to IT professionals, guiding them in the adoption of architectural principles, governance standards, and best practices. Leads the enterprise-wide Business Relationship Management function, ensuring structured, strategic engagement between IT and all business areas.



Enterprise Architecture




Define and maintain the organization's enterprise architecture (business, data, application, and technology domains). Develop architectural roadmaps that align technology initiatives with business priorities. Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend solutions that support strategic objectives. Ensure architectural consistency, scalability, and integration across systems.





Governance & Compliance




Establish and oversee IT governance frameworks, policies, and processes. Monitor compliance with IT standards, regulatory requirements, and security policies. Chair or participate in governance councils/committees, ensuring transparent decision-making on IT priorities and investments. Implement metrics and reporting to track the performance of IT services and architecture adoption.





Business Engagement




Act as a trusted advisor to business units, ensuring technology strategies enable business growth and efficiency. Partner with stakeholders to identify opportunities for IT-driven innovation and optimization. Communicate complex technical concepts in clear, business-focused language. Lead the Business Relationship & Engagement function, including direct oversight of BRM (s) who serve as strategic partners in business units. Develop and mature BRM capabilities, operating models, workflows, and engagement playbooks.





Leadership & Team Development




Lead, mentor, and develop architecture and governance professionals. Promote knowledge sharing and adoption of best practices across IT. Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.

Strong ability to align enterprise architecture with organizational strategies. Proven leadership and interpersonal skills; able to influence senior leaders and build consensus. Deep understanding of architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman, FEAF) and governance models (e.g., ITIL, COBIT). Broad technical expertise across multiple domains (cloud, data management, applications, infrastructure, cybersecurity). Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to balance innovation with risk management. Excellent communication and facilitation skills, capable of bridging business and technical perspectives. Ability to manage complex initiatives across organizational boundaries.





SKILLS you bring




University degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields. Minimum 8-10 years of progressive IT experience, with at least 5 years in enterprise architecture or IT governance. Experience developing and implementing enterprise architecture frameworks and governance processes. Professional certifications such as TOGAF, ITIL, COBIT, or equivalent are considered assets. Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams and managing stakeholders at senior levels. Experience influencing executive decision-making, shaping technology strategies, and leading large-scale modernization.

Language Requirements: Bilingual Imperative: Level (CBC/CBC)


Security Clearance: Eligibility to obtain a Secret-level security clearance
