Position details

  • Salary range: $110,437.60 - $142,997.40
  • This position is eligible for 3 weeks vacation, management days, a Sunlife Health/Dental plan (100% employer paid), and participation in the LAPP Pension Plan
  • Full-time permanent position: regular hours - Monday to Friday (8:30am - 4:30pm), evenings and weekends are required as necessary
Key Responsibilities Include:

The position will be responsible for (but not limited to):
  • Directing and coordinating Enforcement Services related activities, programs, services, events, and operations.
  • Providing ongoing support and expertise in enforcement related matters and committee governance to develop and maintain strong viable community partners, links with enforcement agencies, provincial agencies, and other emergency service agencies.
  • Creating, evaluating, and amending bylaws for approval.
  • Overseeing department budget, purchases, claims, RFPs, and related processes.
  • Performing Peace Officer duties alongside team members as necessary.
  • Other duties as required.
Requirements:
  • A Law Enforcement Diploma or accredited Police Training or Community Peace Officer Induction Program or equivalent certification.
  • Eligibility for appointment as a Community Peace Officer I in accordance with the Peace Officer Act and it\'s Regulations and the Public Security Peace Officer Policy and Procedures Manual.
  • Supervisory experience and knowledge in supervisory techniques.
  • Experience or related training pertaining to radio communication.
  • Prior training and/or experience with Municipal Bylaws and/or Provincial Legislation an asset.
  • Experience providing guidance and direction in times of emergency and elevated stress.
  • Experience in financial/budget management.
Successful candidate must provide a drivers abstract, a child intervention check, a criminal record check (with vulnerable sector), and a medical assessment, that meet the satisfaction of the County.
