Reporting to the Director, with a focus on patient and family centered care and experience, the Manager in Emergency and Ambulatory Care will have overall accountability/responsibility for ensuring that patient care is provided safely, competently and with a focus on quality outcomes. This individual will have the responsibility for the efficient management of human, fiscal and material resources required meet daily requirements as well as provide leadership to identify and implement process improvement initiatives within these departments.
Qualifications
BScN and Ontario College of Nurses registration.
Minimum two (2) years of supervision/management experience.
Minimum five (5) years working experience in an emergency department.
Effective leadership, problem-solving, decision-making and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to establish effective interpersonal relationships including effective collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and external regional partners.
Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision.
Commitment to continuous professional development and continuing education.
Leadership abilities to involve and motivate a team of diverse professionals in achieving desired results.
Demonstrated excellence in working with an interdisciplinary team and community partners.
Excellent communicator with staff, physicians, families, and community partners.
Experience in budget development, monitoring and reporting.
Strong change facilitator with a proven track record of implementing effective and sustainable change initiatives while building effective teams.
Excellent time management with demonstrated ability to coordinate numerous and diverse activities, organizing and prioritizing appropriately to meet demands and expectations.
Available for regular assignment of Hospital Administrator on-call responsibilities (assigned on a rotating basis to cover evenings and weekends).
Demonstrated competence in computer applications appropriate for this role.
Experience and commitment to leading patient safety initiatives.
Recent satisfactory performance and attendance record
