The Opportunity
Royal Distributing is seeking a Manager of Email & Loyalty to lead the strategy, execution, and growth of our customer lifecycle programs across ecommerce and retail channels for our two sister businesses, Royal Distributing and Revco. This role is central to driving customer engagement, retention, and repeat purchase through email, SMS, and loyalty initiatives, ensuring a consistent and impactful customer experience both online and in-store.
The ideal candidate blends data-driven insight with creative execution; comfortable designing campaigns, analyzing performance, and building long-term customer value. You'll oversee our email and SMS marketing, loyalty program, customer segmentation, and triggered automations, with a clear mandate: increase engagement, strengthen brand loyalty, and grow revenue.
Responsibilities
Email & SMS Marketing
Develop and manage the full email and SMS strategy, from campaign planning to triggered automations.
Drive personalization and segmentation strategies that improve engagement and conversions.
Oversee creative development and content for email campaigns, working closely with Design and Purchasing teams.
Monitor performance metrics (open rates, CTR, conversion, AOV, retention) and implement ongoing optimizations.
Loyalty & Customer Retention
Lead the evolution of Royal Distributing's loyalty program to maximize repeat purchases and customer lifetime value.
Design customer journeys that enhance engagement, integrating both ecommerce and in-store touchpoints.
Analyze loyalty program performance, refine tiering/rewards, and oversee promotional offers and campaigns tied to customer retention.
Partner with Purchasing, Retail, and Analytics teams to align loyalty strategy with business goals.
Analytics & Insights
Leverage customer data and reporting tools to inform segmentation, campaign optimization, and loyalty strategies.
Build dashboards and reports to track KPIs across email, SMS, and loyalty initiatives.
Translate data into actionable insights and present findings to Marketing leadership.
Cross-Functional Leadership
Collaborate with teams across Marketing, Retail, eCommerce, IT, Purchasing, and Customer Service to deliver integrated campaigns.
Manage and mentor coordinators or co-op students supporting campaign execution.
Ensure smooth execution of customer communications and promotions across all channels.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in email, CRM, or loyalty marketing, ideally within an ecommerce or omni-channel retail environment.
Strong understanding of lifecycle marketing metrics (CLTV, AOV, retention, engagement).
Experience with email/SMS marketing platforms (e.g., Klaviyo, Dotdigital, Omnisend, Hubspot, etc.) and loyalty platforms (e.g., Yotpo, Salesforce, etc.)
Proficiency in customer segmentation, personalization, and campaign automation.
Strong analytical skills; comfortable working with dashboards, reporting, and campaign analytics.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage, coach, and inspire team members.
University or College degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
Bonus: Experience with Shopify, CDPs, or retail POS/ecommerce data integration.

The role is based out of our Woodlawn location in Guelph, Ontario and may be elgibily for our Hybrid Work Policy
