Come join our team at this exciting time for the position of Manager, Electrical Engineering!
Reporting to the Head - Signals, Electrical and Communications, the Manager, Electrical Engineering will be responsible for all phases of planning, staffing, controlling and directing activities of the Electrical Engineering Section within the Signals/Electrical/Communications (S/E/C) Department with due regard for operational efficiency and cost effectiveness.
What You Will Do

• You will be responsible for implementing a multi-year, multi-million-dollar capital program from inception through planning, design, construction and commissioning in accordance with the Commission's budget, schedule, and quality assurance requirements
• You are also responsible for implementing all scope and/or other changes to contracts, projects and programs and is accountable for approvals within financial limits as identified in the Commission Policies.
• Providing guidance and engineering support to engineering section staff and operation/maintenance personnel on a 24 hours basis for capital and operating projects and emergencies.

What Qualifications Do You Bring?

• Your educational background will consist of the completion of a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a related discipline (such as Electrical Engineering), or a combination of education, training, and experience deemed to be equivalent.
• Your resume will demonstrate a strong understanding of electrical and electronic engineering principles, methods, and practices, along with extensive knowledge of related systems and components as they apply to transit operations, including the design and maintenance of electrical systems for vehicles and infrastructure.
• Thorough understanding of project planning/management concepts and practices combined with a good working knowledge of current scheduling and expenditure systems.
• Demonstrated experience in conceptual planning, detailed design, construction inspection and contract administration.
• Must be familiar with legislative acts such as the Construction Lien Act, Occupational Health & Safety Act, environmental legislation, etc.
• Sound knowledge of applicable provincial and national codes and regulations, CSA and relevant legislation and standards.
• Registration in good standing with Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO) is mandatory.
