What you'll do

Reporting to the Associate Director, Donor Experience, you'll lead the strategy, development and execution of comprehensive donor relations and recognition programs that strengthen relationships and celebrate generosity. Your work will ensure that all recognition commitments are documented, fulfilled and that best practices in donor recognition are consistently applied, and thoughtfully adapted to support overall donor engagement. You will bring a thoughtful, innovative, and creative approach to the application of these programs and practices across a variety of giving segments with a view to supporting philanthropic objectives.
More specifically, you will: Manage and oversee the strategy, guidelines and implementation of donor recognition programs across all giving levels, ensuring timely and meaningful acknowledgment of donor contributions.
Lead governance and approval processes for naming opportunities, including adherence to policies and gift agreements.
Develop and maintain donor walls and other recognition installations, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with organizational standards, while factoring in growth plans.
Establish and champion best practices and processes for donor recognition and stewardship, creating tools and guidelines to support internal teams.
Collaborate cross-functionally with colleagues and hospital partners to deliver recognition that reflects impact and inspires continued engagement.
Create and implement strategic, donor-centred stewardship plans, including personalized communications and experiences that deepen relationships.
Monitor and report on recognition commitments, using data and insights to inform future strategies and enhance donor satisfaction.
Provide leadership and oversight to ensure donor engagement plans are executed with excellence, creativity, and strategic intent.
Build strong cross-functional relationships across the Foundation and Hospital to align efforts and foster collaboration in delivering exceptional donor experiences. In particular, you will collaborate closely with our brand team and hospital partners to demonstrate impact.
Utilize your strong writing skills to craft personalized, compelling donor communications such as personal correspondence, speeches, and donor stories.
Bring a solid understanding of governance in relation to recognition policies, gift agreements and ensuring all committed recognition is executed on, meaningful, impactful and used to inform future donor strategies.

Proven experience managing donor recognition programs, naming approvals, and governance processes, with a strong understanding of related policies and best practices.
Demonstrated ability to oversee complex projects such as donor walls, recognition installations, and fulfillment of gift agreement commitments.
Proficiency in managing complex donor data and lists, and ability to use data-based decision making and synthesize information and clearly communicate to fundraisers
Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with a track record of implementing processes that ensure accuracy and consistency.
Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams and with high-level donors.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to craft compelling donor communications, recognition proposals and reports.
A proactive, solutions-oriented approach with the ability to think big and execute with precision while balancing multiple priorities.
In addition, you will have: Bachelor's Degree in a related field, such as: Fundraising Management, Marketing, Hospitality or Business Administration, complemented by five+ years of progressive work experience in project management and/or fundraising (or equivalent combination of skills and experience).
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
Raiser's Edge NXT or other database experience is an asset.
CFRE designation is an asset.

The hiring range for this position is between $81,770 and $91,000. At BCCHF, we are committed to ensuring that compensation is fair and equitable. Your placement in the salary range will be determined by your experience, relevant skills, and qualifications as they relate to this role.
