Job Overview


Working under minimal supervision, this job contributes to Wawanesa\xe2\x80\x99s success by executing on the Digital Security portfolio of the Information Security program and leading cross-functional Cyber Security subject matter experts to support the enterprise with secure-by-design controls that align to the corporate standards and policies. The Digital Security portfolio offers security advisory services (Application Security, Secure Code Training & Review, Web Application Pen Testing, Cyber Investigations & Forensics) to support the organization.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Leads the design, implementation, and maintenance of the Digital Security roadmap.
  • Forms a consulting like function for Digital Security Services such as offering internal consultancy advice and practical assistance on Secure-by-Design principles.
  • Responsible for ensuring successful execution of Web Application and API Pen Testing for the organization.
  • Responsible for ensuring successful delivery of Cyber Investigations for the organization.
  • Engage with both technical and business stakeholders for requirements and security service delivery.
  • Foster strong cross-functional partnerships for consistent delivery.
  • Assess and recommend vendors for cyber security related solutions.
  • Support Application Vulnerability Management program.
  • Seeks industry trends and organizational knowledge to ensure security practices are aligned and effective.
  • Support cyber security senior leaders, Information Services and business stakeholders in the definition of metrics and reporting that effectively communicate successes and progress of the security program.
  • Supports cyber security senior leaders in the development of budget projections and strategic plans based on both short & long-term objectives.
  • Participates in efforts to improve the Information Security community.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications


  • Minimum of 7 years\xe2\x80\x99 of progressively responsible experience in an Information Services/Information Technology role, preferably information security.
  • 2 years experience in a leadership role.
  • Post-secondary degree/certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Completion of, or working towards, a recognized management certification.
  • Understanding of IT architecture, development and operations with a focus on information security.
  • Ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, in a persuasive and eloquent manner.
  • Advanced analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to manage and prioritize a busy workload and multiple projects.
  • Strong Leadership skills with the ability to engage and influence business and IS leaders.
  • Ability to develop effective plans that define activities, resources, timelines and cost estimates.
  • Ability to make well justified decisions in complex and time sensitive situations
  • Industry certifications (such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC and CIPP) are considered assets
  • Experience in the insurance/finance industry is considered an asset.
  • Experience with Wawanesa\xe2\x80\x99s specific methodologies and technologies is considered an asset
  • Understanding of ITIL is considered an asset.
