What is the opportunity?
The Digital Platform & Engineering (DP&E) Business Operations Manager will centralize and align critical financial, risk, and reporting capabilities across our business and technology teams. This role will lead DP&E's financial management strategy and execution, including operating plans, AppDev recovery, and service chargeback models. Additionally, it will establish and execute a framework to manage risk and regulatory activities effectively. The incumbent will collaborate with stakeholders in financial planning, risk offices, and DP&E resource managers to ensure seamless delivery of initiatives.
What will you do?
Monthly Executive Reporting: Build and present the Monthly Business Review (MBR), consolidating updates on programs, financials, and risk.
Operating Plan Management: Analyze current and future operating plans, identifying trends and providing budget recommendations.
AppDev Recovery: Ensure funding aligns with resource recovery, enabling resource managers to track staff allocation monthly and address gaps.
Service Chargeback Model: Design and implement a recovery model for non-AppDev projects to streamline processes and reduce administrative burden.
Risk Management: Establish a centralized framework (e.g., working groups) to monitor risks (e.g., Archer findings, server vulnerabilities) and remediation strategies.
Program Management: Partner with program leads to ensure timely communication of updates and alignment with plans.
Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams and present insights to executive leadership.
What do you need to succeed?
Must have:
5+ years of hands-on financial management experience, preferably in technology or financial services.
Exceptional communication skills: Ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences, including executives.
Advanced Excel proficiency: Expertise in building and optimizing large-scale financial models.
Process improvement expertise: Proven ability to design/optimize workflows (e.g., chargeback models, risk processes).
Leadership skills: Experience facilitating cross-functional teams and managing competing priorities.
Analytical rigor: Strong attention to detail and business acumen for vetting qualitative/quantitative data.
Growth mindset: Commitment to staying current with data technologies and industry trends.
Nice to have:
Financial systems expertise: Familiarity with tools like MIS and Planview
Technology domain knowledge: Understanding of AppDev, cloud services, or IT infrastructure.
Risk certifications: Credentials like CRISC, CISM, or FRM, or experience with frameworks (Archer, NIST).
Agile/Scrum exposure: Experience aligning financial/risk operations with agile delivery.
Stakeholder influence: Track record of driving consensus in matrixed organizations.
