Our Experience Design (XD) Team is at the forefront of enriching our customers digital experiences and represent the voice of our customers. We are seeking an exceptional Manager, Digital Design & Brand Creative to join our XD team, reporting directly into our Head of Experience Design. This Manager will own our marketing design process from conception to execution, including creating the design strategy of all our marketing assets.

ABOUT YOU
You have a deep skill set in visual storytelling, creative conceptualization, and design execution with an inspiring portfolio that backs up your ability to drive brand design impact in market, manage teams, and deliver exceptional results
You are a natural team leader who has managed direct reports across multiple projects to meet deadlines while delivering high-quality work
You are relentlessly curious about how designs translate to impact and iterating based on performance
You have a deep understanding of channel best practices (ie social, programmatic display, affiliates, etc), competitive creative, and creative strategy
You have a detailed eye for colour, design, visual hierarchy, animation, accessibility, and typography
Communication and storytelling comes easily to you, and your interpersonal, presentation, and analytical skills allow you to effectively communicate complex ideas and concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels within the organization
You help cultivate a culture of creativity, collaboration and continuous learning

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Take creative briefs and own the marketing design strategy and process from conception to execution, owning the design process and providing creative visual solutions that ensure deliverables meet the highest standards and deadlines while meeting the core objective(s)
Deeply understand our customer and market to evolve Capital One Canadas visual storytelling to deliver on customer needs and business goals
Design and execute for various asset deliverables (digital and some print) for marketing campaigns
Able to work and deliver on tight timelines with consistency and exemplary attention to detail
Work with our marketing team on a test and learn strategy to understand and optimize the impact of Capital Ones brand designs to drive business growth
Develop a process playbook focused on leveraging scalability to drive efficiency that effectively manages the design pipeline of multiple, concurrent projects to meet deadlines and drive elevated and engaging on-brand results for our marketing team
Stay connected to industry trends, competitor, and external partners to ensure we are constantly learning and innovating
Manage the design function to deliver a wide variety of visual assets from campaign creative direction, blog images, video direction, social media, etc.
Manage, grow and lead a team of junior designers to unlock scale for design while establishing best practices that include managing design functions
Inspire and mentor junior teams members to reach their full potential and produce the best work possible by adapting to each individuals style of communication and motivation
Work as an integrated leader within the Experience Design team, collaborating closely with Copywriters/Editors and our marketing team to create a consistent and cohesive brand experience
Be a champion of Capital One Canadas brand guidelines, and ensure all external collateral follows them on all platforms/media, with special attention to digital
Communicate design work to a cross-functional team with clarity and iterating on feedback quickly
Collaborate in building consumer journeys that identify key opportunities to connect with our customers to drive impact
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelors Degree in Visual Arts/Graphic Design, Marketing, or other related field, or equivalent experience
5+ years experience in creative direction and marketing communications, with a deep understanding and passion for elevated visual design
3+ years of proven team management experience, including the ability to motivate, exhibit flexibility, prioritize, attend to detail, solve problems, make decisions, manage time, adapt to change, and remain calm and positive under pressure
Highly proficient in Figma and Adobe Suite (Illustrator, After Effects, Photoshop, InDesign),
Strong understanding of digital marketing tools and strategies
Demonstrated ability to lead a creative team and manage multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Experience with senior stakeholder management and vendor management
A strong portfolio that demonstrates your sense of visual storytelling, creative thinking and a wide range of design abilities
Proven track record of innovative thinking in marketing strategy and creative execution
