Description
Reporting to the Director, Creation and Production, the Manager, Design Studio oversees creative operations in the graphic studio and supervises graphic and motion design personnel for Marketing & Communications.
You are responsible for ensuring consistency in the promotional and advertising designs developed by your team. In this capacity, you oversee both annual and daily operational planning in addition to managing and developing the designers and motion designers under your supervision.
You are the resource person for creative operations and management of the Creative and Brand Strategy graphic, digital (editorial) and motion design teams. You also devise strategies for delivering on objectives, working with other Radio-Canada divisions as needed to guarantee the feasibility and quality of the creative solutions proposed.
Key responsibilitiesPlan and optimize design team operations to meet business strategies and assess all required business needs to ensure feasibility. Lead and supervise multiple design teams throughout the creation and production stages of projects and initiatives. This includes developing unique visual environments tailored to digital and app platforms for internal digital editorial content. Additionally, oversee the visual treatment of all TV commercials and other video productions arising from marketing and communication strategies. Manage work teams and campaigns at the strategic level and keep engagement high by offering support, coaching and feedback. Contribute to performance management and the hiring process by proposing concrete actions and implementing development plans to improve performance. Mobilize and motivate the team to achieve corporate objectives while keeping allocated budgets on track. Lead by driving the design strategy to elevate the quality and innovation of creative solutions while staying attuned to prominent design and creative trends to deliver results. Prioritize project planning for the various teams, resolve creative bottlenecks and redirect projects as needed. Develop ongoing training for design teams and oversee the implementation of graphic standards across all channels and platforms, in collaboration with stakeholders. Manage the assigned budget.

We are looking for a candidate with the following:
QualificationsBachelor's degree in communications or marketing (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered). Five (5) to seven (7) years' relevant experience in the television and digital advertising creative and production industry, with an emphasis on design and motion design. Proven experience managing work teams.

SkillsProven digital advertising experience. Knowledge of the advertising environment, with specific expertise in promotional content and production/post-production processes. Ability to be self-reliant, proactive, efficient, dynamic and versatile. Positive leadership with the ability to influence and convey concepts clearly to creative teams. Excellent work planning, co-ordination and organization skills. Ability to manage priorities and handle multiple competing requests, sometimes under pressure. Ability to be thorough. Ability to communicate and build relationships with others and focus on customer service, action and rapid problem-solving. Solid command of spoken and written French. Proficient knowledge of Google Workspace and the Microsoft Office suite. Familiarity with Jira an asset.
