You will have the ability to work remotely in a hybrid work environment.The Manager, Decision Support and Advanced Analytics is responsible for leading and managing the Case Costing and Decision Support team in order to ensure the completeness, accuracy and timeliness of data, information release and reporting for evidence-based decision making, primarily related to clinical performance measurement, case costing, budgeting, planning, and utilization management.Decision Support Lead

  • Responsible for providing direction and guidance to facilitate the achievement of Women\'s College Hospital business objectives and quality improvement through quantitative reporting, data interpretation, and information management
  • Extensive collaboration with front line clinical teams, medical leadership and physicians, senior leadership, and support teams across the organization, including Finance, Quality, Privacy and Equity.
  • Lead and manage the processes to support leadership and clinical programs achieve evidence-based decision making for operational planning, strategic planning, and costing activities
  • Develop a data reporting framework that will support current and future analysis needs
  • Oversee reporting and analytics technology expansion, including increased use of Epic and Microsoft BI tools
  • Lead and manage the development of policies and procedures related to utilization of the case costing information and data compliance with OCCI/MIS/OHRS guidelines. Responsible for leading yearly coordination of the Hospital\'s case costing submission including data flow, gap analysis, readiness assessment, data verification, quality management, and testing per the OCCI methodology and requirements.
  • Support the culture of good data quality and data utilization at all levels of the organization
Leadership / Administrative Management
  • Lead the development of an effective Decision Support team
  • Accountable for managing priorities of the Decision Support team to ensure achievement of Decision Support\'s goals and objectives
  • With the Director, Clinical Applications & Decision Support, set the team objectives and goals aligned with the Hospital\'s Strategic plan, setting measurable outcomes and regularly monitoring progress
  • Direct, coordinate and provide advice to ensure the day-to-day operations of the department are being conducted effectively and efficiently
  • Prioritize projects and activities, and appropriately delegate responsibility and allocate work among staff
  • Manage project work plans, budgets, documents, and timelines
  • Support departmental planning and budget processes
  • Monitor performance and development, conduct appraisals and train or arrange training and development activities for staff

  • University degree in a Health-Related Discipline, Health Administration, Statistics, or a related field; Masters preferred
  • 10 years of experience in an acute care hospital completing case costing and clinical analytics
  • Proficiency in all aspects of case costing management (yearly submission, data quality review and maintenance of the system) and OCCI requirements and methodologies
  • Proficiency in Epic and other BI analytics/reporting tools
  • Ability to engage stakeholders, understand business objectives/requirements, develop performance measures, and design reports and analytical tools tailored towards stakeholder and organizational needs to establish trends and help draw valid conclusions
  • Demonstrate expertise and experience in data governance, data analysis, resource utilization management processes, performance measurement and reporting, as well as operational and financial processes including benchmarking
  • Knowledgeable in MOHLTC policies and funding, HBAM model, MIS Guidelines, CIHI requirements and reporting
  • Comprehensive understanding of health data in Ontario, specifically data required for Health System Funding Reform (including the Health Based Allocation Model and Quality Based Procedures)
  • Highly developed statistical analysis and data modeling skills
  • Proficient in MS Office, and BI/analytics tools (SlicerDicer, Cogito, Crystal, SAS) and other statistical applications
  • Demonstrate excellence in communication, ability to manage multiple projects, critical thinking, leadership and teamwork
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to lead, motivate and manage staff to meet desired performance standards congruent with Women\'s College Hospital mission, vision, and values
  • Demonstrated record of good performance and acceptable attendance will be considered as part of the selection criteria.
  • Professional behavior and communication that meets the standards of the professional regulatory college or association, as applicable, and the standards of Women\'s College Hospital
