Sun Life\xe2\x80\x99s Corporate Finance team is leading the journey of thinking and acting like a Digital company for the Global Finance community through a Finance Accelerator. Leveraging principles and values aligned with a Digital Enterprise (DE) organization, we have created a team to accelerate Finance\xe2\x80\x99s digital journey. Our purpose is to transform Finance through process redesign and automation, establishing best practices, and developing common tool platforms across the organization by applying data and analytics.

We are looking for our successful candidate to be a key member of the Finance Accelerator, enhancing our data foundation for management reporting, detailed analysis, predictive analytics and business intelligence. The role will drive the innovation, build, implement and maintain effective and efficient data architecture for the finance community and will contribute to an ethical and robustly managed best-practice team environment.

This role will report to the Director, Finance Data & Reporting Product Owner.

What will you do?

As part of the Finance Accelerator, manage decisions in design choices on how we will intake, transform and use data; including how data will be collected, structured, governed and follow guiding principles to increase consistency in data across Business Groups

Effectively translate business and project needs into data models (i.e. CDM, LDM, PDM)

Convert complex business and technical rules into logic for data flows (mapping documents) that are implemented in ETL processes

Ensure a high level of data quality and data integrity and security are maintained in developed foundational data sources to be the trusted data source for the expense community

Leverage data expertise to support initiatives through scoping, implementation, impact analysis, and ongoing reporting that includes improving performance issues holistically

Develop and maintain varied security AD groups to limit access to various teams on a need to know basis

What do you need to succeed?

Knowledge and experience in the application of data analytics as they pertain to solving business problems

An undergraduate or graduate degree in mathematics, statistics, management analytics, or computer science, plus strong quantitative skills and background, or equivalent work experience

Expert knowledge in Database modeling, and building ETL pipelines with Informatica or IICS

Data analysis and querying large datasets with SQL (e.g. SQL Server, Snowflake)

Familiarity with AWS data toolsets (e.g. Glue, Redshift, Sage Maker, etc.)

Familiarity with Data analysis using Python

Preferred:

Communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills - be able to effectively communicate complex results to a business audience not familiar with complex data and analytics

Expertise on any reporting platform (like Tableau, SAC or Power BI) is an advantage, but not required

5+ years of industry experience (preferably in Insurance or Financial Services) and expert knowledge in analytics and data science

3+ years of experience leading a team of ETL developers

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
