Reporting to the Senior Manager, IT & Innovation the

Manager, Cybersecurity and Governance

leads the implementation of Zero Trust principles, oversees the identity and access management (IAM) lifecycle, and directs cybersecurity operations, including threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management. Working collaboratively across the organization, the incumbent fosters a culture of security awareness, compliance, and proactive risk mitigation. By integrating innovation and automation, the Manager ensures ECCU's digital environment remains secure, resilient, and trusted for members, employees, and partners.

You would...




Design, implement, and continuously enhance ECCU's enterprise cybersecurity framework in collaboration with IT, Risk, and key business partners. Develop, communicate, and enforce cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures that align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements. Oversee all aspects of threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management to ensure timely mitigation and resilience. Lead internal and external cybersecurity audits, ensuring alignment with governance standards and third-party risk management expectations. Develop and own ECCU's IAM strategy, including provisioning, de-provisioning, role-based access control (RBAC), and privileged access management (PAM). Ensure secure and compliant identity practices leveraging protocols such as SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect, and MFA. Oversee IAM tools, automation, and access workflows to strengthen security, improve efficiency, and enhance user experience. Oversee the end-to-end management of third-party risk, ensuring vendors meet ECCU's cybersecurity, contractual, and regulatory requirements. Drive efficiency and cost optimization through strategic vendor evaluation, contract negotiation, and service alignment with ECCU's goals. Maintain and update the third-party risk register, ensuring transparency and alignment with the organization's risk appetite. Collaborate with Legal, Procurement, and Risk teams to uphold robust due diligence, compliance, and governance practices. Provide coaching, mentorship, and leadership to the Information Security and IAM teams, fostering engagement and professional growth. Set clear performance expectations, conduct regular reviews, and build capability in cybersecurity and risk management disciplines. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, branches, and external partners to support collaboration and shared success. Actively participate in ECCU and community initiatives, events, and volunteer programs to promote the Credit Union's values and impact.

You have...




Successfully completed a bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, supported by relevant professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CRISC. A minimum of five to seven years of relevant experience, preferably in a financial institution; or equivalent combination of training and experience. At least seven years of progressive experience in cybersecurity or information security, including at least two years in a leadership or managerial role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

experienced with cloud security, SIEM platforms, endpoint protection, and incident response processes. Analytical and a problem solver with the ability to assess complex security challenges and implement effective, scalable solutions. An exceptional communicator and presenter, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical and executive audiences. Strategic about driving cybersecurity initiatives that align with organizational goals and evolving digital transformation priorities.
