Job Title Manager, Credit Investment



What is the opportunity?

An exciting opportunity to support credit investment opportunities for both private placement loans and public bonds, mostly investment grade. Incumbent will be responsible for information collection and in-depth analysis of existing and potential opportunities in the investment portfolio. Incumbent will also be responsible for market information requirements to actuarial, operational teams and risk management.

What will you do?

40 % - Fundamental credit analysis of new and existing investment opportunities in bonds and loans, and relative value assessment versus alternatives.

• Monitor closely new issue markets in both bonds and loans for opportunities

• Monitor credit development of our existing holdings and assess the credit implications

• Generate trade recommendations based on relative value assessment on existing holdings and alternatives available

30% - Reporting and analysis of portfolios, monitoring compliance with all limits for both sectors and single names.

• Keep track of rating changes to ensure database accuracy

• Closely monitor single name limits and exposure, proactively managing the limits to ensure compliance with and without new trades

• Support actuarial and finance groups in information needs to value the impact of portfolio activity on the income statement and reserves

30% - Support and liaison with internal groups to provide market information, attend industrial conference and regularly interact with sell-side research analysts, rating agencies and peers.

• Incumbent will have primary responsibility for providing all credit-related data required for investment operations and finance departments, including month end ratings, limits, and pricing.

• Incumbent will be expected to keep abreast of development in the credit markets with regular interactions with third-party dealers, rating agencies and peers

What will you need to succeed?

• 2 or more years of credit experience in corporate lending or credit investing

• Security analysis and execution, experience with Bloomberg is an asset.

• Required: Undergraduate in Business, Graduate degree an asset

• CFA preferred, CA an asset
