The Wealth Management team within Corporate and Public Affairs (CAPA) delivers best-in-class external and internal communications to help differentiate TD in the market and elevate our brand. We deliver on CAPA\'s mission to inspire and connect our customers, communities and colleagues through communications, conversations and advocacy that enrich lives, drive business outcomes and enhance our brand.

Job Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in corporate and/or agency communications environment
  • A proven track record in both proactive and reactive media relations, with strong relationship management skills
  • Proven experience providing communications counsel and issues management to business partners and senior executives
  • Issues management experience, including critical thinking, common sense and good judgement when dealing with sensitive matters
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to reach the hearts and minds of audiences through compelling storytelling
  • An entrepreneurial and adaptable mindset
  • The ability to understand complex subject matter and distill it into communications that are simple and easy to understand
  • Digital fluency and demonstrated experience using social media for corporate clients
  • A strong project management mindset, with the ability to deliver on deadline both as an individual contributor, and as part of a team

We are hiring an experienced communications professional to work closely with Corporate and Public Affairs (CAPA) colleagues supporting external and internal communications programs for TD Wealth Management\'s group.

Key accountabilities include:
  • Playing a lead role in driving strategy and delivering executive communications for Wealth Management, which includes researching and writing flawless communication materials, including briefing documents, speaking remarks, video scripts, internal articles and announcements.
  • Working closely with senior leaders and key business partners to develop and execute on comprehensive media relations strategies and plans.
  • Collaborating with teams across Wealth Management; TD Direct Investing, Private Wealth Management & Financial Planning, TD Asset Management and Wealth Shared Services, as well as key stakeholders and control partners including Product teams, Marketing, HR, Publishing, Legal, Privacy and Compliance.
  • Liaising with media and TD spokespeople to identify and manage media requests
  • Identifying and using the most appropriate storytelling tools to produce and deliver compelling content to employee and external audiences, leveraging traditional, online and social that will help influence stakeholders and drive engagement across a number of channels, audiences and geographies
  • Continuing to foster meaningful and lasting relationships with key journalists who cover the wealth management and financial industry
  • Managing media and reputation issues by being an advocate for clear, credible and transparent messages
  • Working closely with the Senior Manager, Corporate Communications to develop and execute internal communications tactics that celebrate our colleagues and their achievements, supporting Wealth Management priorities.
  • Consistently demonstrating strong project management skills and the ability to partner effectively across the organization and with colleagues within CAPA
