Responsible for managing day-to-day delivery and administration of contracts and innovation transfer services by negotiating intellectual property and financing arrangements for strategic research partnerships with the private and public sectors and that they are maintained and exist in compliance with university and funding agency requirements where necessary. The incumbent is also accountable to ensure the faculty is properly supported under the terms and conditions of legal agreements between the University and the various partners.
Qualifications:
The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:
Knowledge of Intellectual property law, including licensing and patent protection
Knowledge of Commercial Contracts law
Knowledge of Contracts Negotiations
Knowledge of Technology Products Analysis (algorithms, analog/digital devices
Knowledge of Venture Market Analysis /Venture Business Strategy
Knowledge of Research Project Management
Knowledge of Technology Business Development
Knowledge of Carleton Administrative Process in Graduate Studies, Research Finance, Risk Management, Procurement Office, General Counsel's Office, CORIS, etc.
Education and Experience:
The above is normally acquired through the completion of:
Bachelors degree (Masters degree is preferred).
Minimum of seven year of previous contract, agreement, and business development experience
