The
Manager, Configuration Management
will establish and lead the Configuration Management capability at Gastops, building the processes, tools, and governance structure that ensure product integrity throughout the entire lifecycle. You will define how configuration baselines are created, controlled, and communicated, enabling engineering, operations, and service teams to deliver high-quality, traceable, and compliant products.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a high level of technical competence, professional integrity, and leadership, serving as a model of engineering excellence and innovation within the organization.
What You'll Do:
Build the company's Configuration Management framework
from the ground up, including policies, procedures, and standards aligned with industry best practices (e.g., EIA-649, ISO 10007, AS9100).
Define and manage product configuration baselines
, including hardware, software, documentation, and digital artifacts.
Establish change control processes
, lead Configuration Control Boards (CCBs), and ensure disciplined evaluation, approval, and implementation of engineering changes.
Implement and administer CM tools
, such as PLM, PDM, or other configuration control systems, ensuring they meet business and engineering needs.
Collaborate closely with systems, hardware, software, operations, and quality teams
to ensure consistent application of CM practices across the product lifecycle.
Oversee product structure management
, including part numbering, bill of materials (BOMs), interface definitions, and revision control.
Ensure configuration traceability
, enabling accurate reporting, audits, and compliance with customer, regulatory, and internal requirements.
Support project teams
by providing CM planning, configuration status reporting, and change impact assessments.
Train, mentor, and guide engineering and operations teams
on CM principles, workflows, and tools.
Champion a culture of configuration discipline
, ensuring clarity, consistency, and accountability in product definition and change management.

Who You Are:
A
Bachelor's degree
in Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or a related discipline.
7-10+ years of experience
in configuration management within engineering, manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or other regulated industries.
Proven success in
establishing or maturing CM practices
, including process development and tool implementation.
Deep understanding of
CM principles
: configuration identification, change control, status accounting, audits, and product structure management.
Experience with
PLM/PDM systems
(e.g., Teamcenter, Windchill, Arena, SolidWorks PDM, etc.).
Strong skills in
organizing complex technical data
, managing baselines, and ensuring traceability.
Excellent communication and facilitation abilities, especially in cross-functional settings.
Familiarity with
AS9100
,
ISO 9001
, or other quality frameworks (asset).
Certification in CM (e.g., CMII, CMPIC) considered an asset.
