Overview
We are looking for a Manager, Compliance and Field Investigations to manage the Compliance and Field Investigations sections within the Legal Services Division as a practising member of the Law Society of British Columbia. In this role, you\xe2\x80\x99ll report to the Senior Manager, Compliance and Field Investigations, and lead managers and staff in the provision of legal advice to WorkSafeBC officers, staff and management on matters including: the investigation, issuance, and adjudication of OHS orders and administrative penalties; the investigation of serious violations of the Workers Compensation Act and other legislation which may lead to the referral of quasi-criminal charges to the BC Prosecution Service; the adjudication of worker health & safety discrimination complaints; and general legal advice on prevention-related legislation, regulations, WorkSafeBC policy, and law.
In addition, the incumbent supports the development of field investigation strategies, policy, and practice by directing assigned staff to ensure the effective delivery of services and implementation of WorkSafeBC and Divisional policies and programs. The primary function of the department is to investigate serious violations of the Workers Compensation Act and fraudulent activities against the workers\xe2\x80\x99 compensation system.

In this role, you\xe2\x80\x99ll work primarily from your B.C. home and occasionally in our Richmond office.
