Job Summary
Under the guidance of the Director, Total Rewards, the Manager, Compensation Policy is accountable for the planning, design, development, implementation, and administration of the corporate compensation programs. The position is responsible for the governance of the programs while leading and guiding a small team of professionals and providing expert advice in the development and implementation of compensation plans, structures, policies, and procedures aligned with the strategic objectives and budgets and ensuring compliance with existing legislation, regulations and collective agreements with a focus of excellent service delivery and employee experience.

In this role you will:Plans and manages the compensation strategies and provides on-going strategic advice and counsel regarding compensation best practices to ensure competitiveness and compliance. Evaluates, benchmark and modifies compensation policies, structures and procedures to ensure competitiveness, corporate consistency and compliance with collective agreements, legislative and regulatory requirements and designs elements including benefit levels, tax efficiency, benefit security, cost sharing and contribution/premium levels. Performs data analysis on the best pay plans for NAV CANADA and makes recommendation for improvement. Monitor compensation data to maintain internal equity, pay equity and compliance to policies, procedures and any applicable legislation. Ensure programs and policies are in compliance with corporate law and government regulations, including Pay Equity. Supports the annual HR budgeting process and develops budgetary plans and projections based on operational requirements and priorities aligned with current and projected compensation plans, structures, systems and labour market conditions as well as legal regulations and collective agreements and coordinates audits as they relate to the compensation programs. Collaborates with the stakeholders in the development and implementation of the compensation communication strategy. Manages the operations of the Compensation team; establishes goals, objectives and performance indicators; identifies resource requirements to deliver national programs, recommends human resources levels; assigns, prioritizes, monitors and appraises work; evaluates performance, determines training and development requirements, and manages staff relations.

What you bring:Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources, Finance or similar field or equivalent combination of related experience and education. Designations such as CCP, CHRP, CHRL, CEBS or equivalents are an asset. 3-5 years' HR (compensation/payroll/HRIS) experience required. 2+ years' experience managing people. Experience working with senior management and executives. Experience with continuous improvement and change initiatives. Experience developing & effectively delivering presentations including executive summaries to various audiences including senior management team. One or more years of experience in a unionized environment an asset. Knowledge of program development/management techniques including planning, organizing and coordination to develop, implement and monitor criteria for multi-tasked projects. Knowledge of management theories, principles, methods/techniques, concepts and best practices including financial management, budgeting, forecasting, funding control, accountability and auditing, cost/benefit and risk analysis, strategic business planning, and human resource management. Strong working knowledge of Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) Workday and Microsoft applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio.

Working Conditions:This position is a hybrid position with a minimum - 3 days per week on site. Occasional travel required.
