In this role, you are responsible for leading the Commercial Underwriting Department to attain business growth, maximize productivity and deliver exceptional customer care. Every day you will build relationships within the business, industry, and your team to develop effective strategies on meeting company objectives.
Here is what a typical day looks like
Directing a team of underwriters to help write new and renewal business at an enterprise level
Ensure underwriting policies, practices and guidelines are rolled out, understood, and adhered to
Collaborating to identify key pricing and coverage trends and providing technical expertise support to develop new wordings, endorsements, coverages/or products
Ensure service standards, productivity and quality targets are met
Support and participate in change management process to shape organizational understanding of proposed changes and establish support from key stakeholders
The value you bring
General Insurance Level 3 License (within 3 months of hire)
CAIB and/or CIP preferred
Proven experience Underwriting, preferably in a Commercial Underwriting role
Proven experience leading a team of Underwriters
Hours: 37.5 hours/week - term of 20 months
Location: Remote in Canada
Salary range: $95,000 - $120,000
