A member of the Finance group, this position reports to the Controller and is part of the team that is responsible for providing technical, data analytics and coordination aspects related to the annual operating budget and forecasts for the executive management team, Clients, Finance and Audit Committee and the Board of Directors, including analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and preparing financial reports. Also ensures a high level of service to the public, clients, and other Corporation staff through efficient support of our Finance Team in financial and operational reviews, forecasting, annual budget creation and business case preparation and business process reviews.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Data and Report Preparation
Participate in the on-going design, development, and maintenance of the forecasting and annual Budget information system.
Assess and integrate data platforms into the budget and forecasting information system.
Collect, interpret, and report on financial data on integrated platforms.
Work with department managers/supervisors to understand the business needs and assist in the development of predictive models by utilizing financial data to make potential and proactive business decisions.
Prepare revenue reports for important revenue centers; Costing reports for cost centres.
Support the Controller in facilitating reporting for weekly operations strategic reviews with the Operations Team and Executive Team
Support the Controller to facilitate reporting for monthly financial reviews with the Executive Team
Facilitate quarterly financial reviews to support delivery to Controller, City of Vancouver, Clients, Finance and Audit Committee and Board of Directors
Prepare templates/profiles for financial statement specifications to facilitate responses to RFP's.
Redesign Client Management Reports to provide actual performance data, relevant statistics and projections with clean dashboard presentation and operational overview.
Ensure accurate Client Management are produced and delivered on a timely manner.
Month End Reporting and Analysis
Deliver statistical reports required to facilitate month-end.
Prepare ad-hoc statistical analysis to support client needs or executive needs.
Prepare monthly dashboards that reflect actual, budget and forecasted results.
Prepare monthly client specific statistical reporting and forecast management reports.
Monitor operational performance, analyzing and providing insight on financial results.
Collect and assess corporate KPI's for distribution and feedback to executive team.
Duties as assigned by Controller to support financial statement delivery.
Budgeting and Projection Process
Generate on-going projections for corporate results or individual facilities.
Responsible for compiling annual operating budget in concert with the Controller.
Other Duties
Establish and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for all key processes.
Periodically conduct information-only presentations, such as workshops, budget overview sessions, and other efforts.
Participate in cross-functional initiatives and ad-hoc projects to provide financial analysis for decision support.
SKILLS
Expert knowledge of Excel is required.
Proficient knowledge of PowerPoint

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Six years of experience in the financial industry, with at least three years of experience in supervisory role
Designated CPA Experience with stakeholder reporting, financial planning, and analysis
Experience with Adaptive Insights is an asset.
Experience with Sage Intacct accounting software or similar also an asset

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
The position, under the direction of the Controller, will primarily be responsible for providing financial statements, together with any other financial information as required by our clients, on a timely basis. In addition, this position will be responsible for establishing and providing annual budgets, on-going and ad-hoc forecast modelling, and statistical/financial reporting. Position will create and communicate the annual budget and provide monthly analysis of business and financial operations. This position must be a Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) and is expected to consistently participate as a productive leader within the Finance group and deal with other management and staff, members of the public, contractors, and City of Vancouver staff in an efficient, professional, and courteous manner.
