The Opportunity



We are seeking a

Manager

to lead our Client Accounting Services (CAS) division.

This role is responsible for

owning client experience, service quality, delivery consistency, and team performance

across our CAS clients. You will ensure that what Southbrook promises in the sales process is delivered consistently, proactively, and profitably.

This is a

people-first leadership role

, not a transactional accounting position. While a strong accounting foundation is required, the primary focus is

leadership, accountability, and execution

.

About You



You are a strong operational leader who:

Thrives in client-facing, service-driven environments

workplace during work hours Holds high standards and is comfortable enforcing them Enjoys leading people and improving systems more than doing data entry Understands how bookkeeping, reporting, controller work, and advisory fit together

You bring:



8+ years of experience in accounting, CAS, or professional services delivery 5+ years of experience leading or managing teams Strong understanding of QBO-based accounting workflows Experience working with small to mid-sized businesses CPA designation is an asset,

not required

Experience with FinancialCents or similar workflow Excellent communication, organization, and follow-through skills

Reporting to the President, you will be responsible for:



1. Client Experience & Service Quality



Own the CAS client experience from onboarding through steady-state delivery Ensure proactive communication and issue identification Act as the primary escalation point for CAS client concerns Protect Southbrook's premium service promise

2. CAS Team Leadership & Accountability



Directly manage CAS accountants and bookkeepers Set clear expectations around quality, timeliness, and communication Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and coaching conversations Make role-fit decisions to ensure the right people are in the right seats

3. Delivery, Capacity & Workflow Management



Own month-end close timelines and onboarding capacity Balance workloads across the month to reduce burnout Enforce service tiers, Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and turnaround commitments Ensure vacation coverage and backup planning

4. Financial Oversight & Margin Discipline



Monitor CAS client margins and workload alignment Support pricing, scoping, and quoting decisions Flag scope creep and delivery risks early Partner with leadership on client acceptance decisions

5. Process & Continuous Improvement



Own CAS workflows within practice management systems (FinancialCents) Standardize onboarding, cleanup, and month-end processes Identify repeat issues and eliminate root causes Collaborate with technical leaders on process design

What This Role Is Not



Day-to-day bookkeeping or transactional processing Routine remittances or payroll entry Tax preparation or technical accounting execution

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $110,000.00-$140,000.00 per year
