The Manager is responsible for providing leadership, direction, and oversight to ensure the effective delivery of high-quality, person-centered services across COS's programs and services. This position plays a key role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities to achieve their personal goals, enhance their independence, and participate fully in their community in alignment with COS's mission, vision, and values.
The Manager oversees day-to-day operations, supervises Program Coordinators and Community Inclusion Workers, ensures compliance with CARF standards and Community Living BC (CLBC) contractual requirements, and fosters a collaborative, inclusive, and accountable workplace culture. The Manager supports program development and evaluation, ensures staff receive appropriate training and resources, and maintains strong partnerships with families, funders, and community agencies.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
Plans and implements activities and special events for the organizations and its programs
Under the guidance and direction of the Director of Services, oversees the day-to-day operation of the program by ensuring that the necessary facilities and equipment are well maintained and in place, program guidelines and policies are adhered to, and program standards and licensing requirements are met.
Provides ongoing training, coaching, support, direction and mentorship to PC1s, staff, volunteers and students to ensure a person-centred service
Conducts performance reviews and probationary meetings
Oversees the recruitment, orientation, training and mentoring of staff, volunteers and students
Works collaboratively with other managers and the Director of Service regarding program development, policy and procedure formulation and evaluation
Ensures client and staff files are complete and kept current including important information, attendance, notes and outcomes
Ensure adherence to CARF standards
Promotes positive public awareness of and support for Chilliwack Opportunity Society by performing duties such as producing promotional materials and attending community events.
Liaises with community service providers and other professionals to coordinate service provision, facilitate referrals to the program and represent the organization or program in external events.
Performs other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Relevant Post Secondary Education and/or equivalent relevant experience
Minimum 1 year experience in the field
Minimum 2 years of managerial experience
REQUIREMENTS:
Must be 19 years of age or older
Class 4 unrestricted driver's license with clear drivers abstract
Emergency First Aid and AED/CPR certification
Clear Vulnerable Sector check
Union Membership
Adherence to C.O.S.'s Ethical Code of Conduct and Policies and Procedures
Continuous training and education as requested by the Director of Service
