Your Opportunity:The Allied Health Assistant Manager performs a key leadership role at the Rockyview General Hospital (RGH) and reports directly to the Allied Health Manager. This position is responsible and accountable for contributing to the direction, leadership and organization of Allied Health services, including the areas of Recreation Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech Language Pathology, Social Work, Spiritual Care and Therapy Assistants. Primary areas of accountability include: human resource management (incl. recruitment and staffing, payroll, safety), program planning (incl. Quality Improvement initiatives), support and mentorship of Clinical Leaders. The Assistant Manager will also participate on various site committees and projects. To achieve success, the Assistant Manager will develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders within the RGH site, across Allied Health departments in the Calgary Zone and Allied Health partners at a provincial level.Description:Primary areas of accountability include human resource management (incl. recruitment and staffing, payroll, safety, performance appraisals), program planning (incl. Required Qualifications:A degree in a healthcare profession including one of the RGH Allied Health Professions or Nursing with appropriate licensure with the respective professional college. A minimum of 5 years in a clinical role & supervisory experience ideally in an organization of similar size, complexity & diversity. Equivalencies of education & experience may be considered. Incumbent should demonstrate a clear pattern of professional & personal development in the following areas: - Progressive leadership experience in an acute care environment, including experience in a leadership role in operations. - Effective communicator (written & verbal) with strong organizational skills, influential skills, client-focused orientation & commitment to providing quality services. - Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability & comfort with decision-making responsibilities, coaching & teaching, & the ability to inspire & build confidence in others within a team environment.
Additional Required Qualifications:Demonstrated ability to manage change & create innovative solutions for complex & diverse issues. Ability to manage human, financial & physical resources within an operating environment. Proven ability in establishing and maintaining collaborative, effective working relationships with internal (e.g. a diverse inter-professional team) & external (incl. outside either Allied Health or AHS) stakeholders, to achieve organizational goals. Ability to plan, organize, prioritize & manage multiple concurrent projects, incl. short- & long-term plans, & deliver client-focused results for staff & patients. Success with mediating & managing conflict situations. Proficiency with computer applications (e.g. Microsoft Office, clinical systems).
Preferred Qualifications:Experience with ESP and Connect Care. Experience and education with Alberta Improvement Way (AIW) process improvement methodologies, LEAN/Six Sigma methodologies or equivalent. Experience with having constructive conversations and performance conversations.
