Please reach out to us to learn more! General Accountabilities:

  • Complete Quality Assurance activities requiring technical expertise to ensure Line of Business Operations work is being carried out according to legislated policies and procedures and/or required business practices (e.g. Reg. 22/04, Dx/Tx Forestry, Distribution Design and Construction, Metering, etc.)
  • Monitor, evaluate, and recommend changes and best practices to ensure efficient and effective completion of assigned work programs or processes.
  • Identify, plan, organize, document and monitor requirements and processes for activities requiring completion by various work groups or contractors (internal or external) to ensure delivery of service as agreed.
  • Contribute to the interpretation and assessment of the organizational performance as it relates to the execution of work programs, paying particular attention to the effectiveness of business processes and successful adoption of software tools and data systems.
  • Produce and/or oversee the development reporting, presentations, communications or training relating to a wide variety of operational business processes and related subjects, as required within the Line of Business.
  • Compile and review information on Distribution work achievements (e.g. work accomplishment reporting, measures, etc.)
  • Provide advice and recommendations on Distribution’s Program capabilities on price, service levels, processes and other deliverables as part of negotiation of Service Level Agreements or Contracts.
  • Identify potential items, programs or processes requiring audit and develop program standards and specifications to ensure reasonable compliance against standards, regulations, practices and processes.
  • Assist in process benchmarking and identify potential best practices to improve assigned processes.
  • Exercise limited or periodic supervision over staff assigned to assist/contribute to specific studies or projects.
  • Carry out assigned projects, and participate in teams engaged in the development and integration of effective business processes, projects audits and estimates congruent with the competitive needs of the emerging Distribution business, and fully leveraging the capabilities of the embedded work management software and tools.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Selection Criteria (Essential Knowledge & Experience):
  • Requires experience in the Distribution Line of Business to have acquired knowledge in the technical aspects of the job, policies, standards, regulations, practices, systems and processes.
  • Requires some practical knowledge of the technical and operational processes (office and field organizations).
  • Requires knowledge of /experience with internal Standards (e.g. Distribution Standards, Forestry Practices, etc.).
  • Requires knowledge of English to effectively communicate both orally and in writing to prepare reports, standards and specifications as well as the interpretation of Service Level Agreements or Contracts.
  • Requires knowledge of computerized information systems and business administration to be able to develop and/or utilize systems and processes for analyzing, presenting and reporting information.
  • This knowledge is considered to be normally acquired through the completion of 4 years of University training (Grade XII plus 5 years) or equivalent job experience (e.g. experience working in the Distribution LOB).
  • Requires experience in working effectively with a wide range of people as well as the ability to work independently.
  • Requires experience handling multiple tasks while adhering to stringent deadlines.
  • Requires some experience monitoring organizational performance, using a variety of diagnostic tools, and working in change management initiatives to secure organizational alignment and improved performance.
  • Extensive travel is required to perform compliance audits throughout the province.
  • Possible working locations: Huntsville, Parry Sound and Bracebridge
