Would you like to be a part of Canada's leading and progressive Business Law firm?
Under the direction of the Director, Business Development, the Managers will be responsible for delivering client and business development services to key national practice and sector groups, providing strategic advice and skilled execution of key initiatives to build profile, develop client relationships and support revenue growth.
This is an excellent opportunity for a senior business development professional, with over seven years of manager level experience, who is looking for a new challenge.
What You'll Do
This Manager will drive initiatives for internal stakeholders which generate results externally. To this end, the Manager will have primary responsibility to:
Participate in the development and implementation of business plans and annual budgets
Develop thorough knowledge of the assigned group's objectives and needs and stay current on industry trends
Actively participate in group's BD meetings to provide value and guidance
Raise the profile, reputation and brand of the related practice and sectors through participation in events and targeted involvement with organizations, seminars, publications and the community
Lead group client and BD initiatives, involving other MBD team members as necessary
Implement strategies and support efforts to increase business with existing, potential and identified key clients
Support awareness building activities for the group, including directory submissions, conference attendance, thought leadership development and sponsorship evaluation
Provide input and support on pitches and proposals as needed
Manage and coach a team of BD professionals, to develop their expertise, assigning tasks and supporting them through their daily responsibilities
Support other MBD projects as required
What You'll Bring
You have prior experience leading marketing personnel and championing business development initiatives for client development, market growth and competitive differentiation
You have a minimum of 7-10 years' experience related experience in the professional services sector. Previous experience in a law firm or financial services environment would be considered an asset
You communicate in a professional manner, exercising discretion and tact
You demonstrate the ability to handle stress and multiple tasks in a composed, calm and professional manner
You embrace evolving technology and have strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, database management/CRM systems, business analytics and experience with social media and marketing automation tools
You are a team player with a flexible attitude, have the ability to set direction and establish priorities
You work well under pressure. In addition, this position requires an individual with excellent organizational, communication and positive attitude both working independently and with cross-functional teams
You have the ability to take initiative and work autonomously
You enjoy project work and do not shy away from rolling up the sleeves
You have the ability to travel across offices
