Department Overview

Business Application Ownership and Management at TD is part of an enterprise-wide data and analytics ecosystem. We strive to be the better bank, and in this role, we\'ll count on you to be our interface between business and technology.

We\'re looking for highly analytical, collaborative and agile professionals who can merge and translate data to build business momentum and deliver results.

Using professional and experiential knowledge, the Business Application Ownership and Management team works in close partnership with corporate functions and technology, as well as aligns to project management, business analysis, business management, strategy and governance.

Job Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or technical certificate or equivalent professional experience
  • Seven(7) or more years relevant experience
  • Advanced knowledge of business-supported applications, Product development lifecycle methodology, business testing, project management, change management and governance standards as well as current and emerging competitor and market trends
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; uses strong communication skills to communicate complex issues in easily understandable terms.
  • Proven ability to see business processes through the customer and employee lens
  • Ability to deal with significant ambiguity and flexibility to adapt to changing business priorities in a fast-paced environment while continuously challenging the status quo
  • Strong business acumen, financial acumen and analytical skill set - ability to absorb information on a variety of complex issues (financial and non-financial) and summarize key issues or concerns and identify common themes and trends
  • Strong communication (written & verbal) and inter-personal skills to facilitate working with colleagues at all levels of the Organization
  • Team player with exceptional relationship management and impact & influence skills
  • Natural collaborator who engages colleagues, business partners, external stakeholders, and employees at all levels of the organization with a superior ability to make things happen through the use of positive influence
  • Sound working knowledge of various software applications (e.g. MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.)
  • At least 3+ years of experience working in an Agile environment and proficient in using JIRA/Confluence.
  • Experience in Fraud or Risk business environments an asset.
  • Experience with technical components in cloud, microservices, and analytical data platforms an asset.

Job Details
  • Establish Product owner presence and appropriately guide agile team, Business owners, and other partners to successful product feature completion.
  • Collaborate across other delivery teams to provide ongoing pipeline & status updates for initiatives to ensure we achieve desired and end state on time and in budget
  • Work closely with, influence and effectively manage relationships with key partners and stakeholders, up to the Executive Level, to successfully delivery & implement initiatives & meet associated business objectives
  • Promote TD Agile practices and train project members and/or Business users where applicable
  • Collaborate with architects, applications, and systems development teams to ensure database designs and data models support the integration of data/information flow across systems and platforms
  • Proactively build and maintain regular detailed reports/dashboards to enhance existing portfolio reporting and identify trends
  • Oversee scope of the project and collaboratively adjusts scope when necessary, ensuring adherence to established project change management processes
  • Adhere to enterprise project gating and governance controls to ensure that projects meet all the performance, quality and compliance standards and conforms to appropriate methodology
  • Lead and manage a pod of specialists performing overall operations with moderate risk, complexity and scope
  • Grow team expertise and develop skills and capabilities to achieve career goals while supporting project\'s success and thereby achieving business results
  • Provide people management leadership and deliver business results by hiring top talent, allocating resources appropriately, setting goals, coaching, mentoring and developing staff and managing performance and compensation
  • Be directly accountable for leading and managing business outcomes to support business applications and achieve operational excellence as Operational Excellence Champion
  • Support planning and management processes for Product & Technology project
  • Own and maintain roadmaps to establish vision, clarity and strategic alignment with business
Own the deployment and change requirements for initiatives and projects spanning across all project tiers
