POSITION SUMMARY




The

Manager, Building & Operations Services

leads all aspects of building operations across a large, multi-site corporate portfolio. In this role, you will oversee preventative maintenance, manage suppliers, monitor compliance, and ensure all facilities remain safe, efficient, and responsive to organizational needs. Reporting to senior leadership, you will guide a high-performing team while driving improvements, managing budgets, and supporting long-term operational planning.


You will be responsible for upholding operational standards, implementing efficiencies, fostering a strong team culture, and ensuring facilities services align with organizational goals, service expectations, and overall workplace experience.




YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:

Plan, coordinate, and deliver full-spectrum, ongoing support for building operations to fulfill organizational objectives. Administer facilities budgets and preventative maintenance programs, balancing financial targets with business and corporate priorities. Identify opportunities for improvement and implement strategies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Oversee adherence to relevant regulations, organizational policies, and standard operating procedures. Recruit, mentor, develop, and evaluate both team members and contracted service providers. Cultivate a high-performing, collaborative, and supportive environment within the department and the wider organization.





THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION ARE:




Minimum 5 years of experience managing or supervising building/facilities operations. Proven capacity to perform effectively in a fast-moving and dynamic work environment. Skilled in the use of facilities management systems and related software, such as service request platforms, building automation systems, Microsoft Office, and financial management tools. Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation abilities. Professional designation such as Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Operations Management (Facilities), or an equivalent credential. Valid B.C. Class 5 Driver's License. A post-secondary degree in a relevant field is an asset. Prior experience in the public sector, especially within a unionized workplace is a strong asset.
