:

The Manager, Enterprise Systems provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the organization's enterprise technology portfolio, encompassing clinical platforms, corporate systems, and integration frameworks. Reporting to the Regional Operations Director, this role ensures reliable system performance, service excellence, and alignment with organizational and regional digital health strategies.


A key responsibility is advancing interoperability and integration across internal systems, regional platforms such as Traverse Exchange, and provincial digital health assets, enabling secure, standardized data exchange and optimized workflows. The Manager is accountable for enterprise architecture governance, system optimization, and the successful delivery of technology projects that support clinical and business priorities.


Working collaboratively with internal teams, partner hospitals, provincial stakeholders, and vendors, this position drives innovation, standardization, and continuous improvement across the enterprise systems portfolio to enable safe, efficient, and connected care.


EDUCATION:




University Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology & Information Systems, or a related discipline. ITIL V4 Foundation or Practitioner preferred Quality Improvement certification (Lean, Six Sigma) preferred Additional certifications in enterprise architecture frameworks (eg. TOGAF, Zachman) or integration standards (HL7, FHIR) are highly desirable.

EXPERIENCE:




Minimum of 5 years' leadership experience in Information Technology within a healthcare or complex enterprise environment. Proven experience in designing, implementing, and governing Enterprise Reference Architecture (ERA). Strong background in system integration and interoperability, including experience with provincial digital health assets (e.g., OLIS, eReferral) and regional platforms such as Traverse Exchange. Demonstrated expertise in Meditech platform management, including lifecycle planning, upgrades, and optimization. Experience supporting enterprise business systems (e.g., HR, Finance, Supply Chain, Payroll) and ensuring integration across clinical and corporate platforms. Proven ability to manage large-scale technology projects, including vendor coordination, contract negotiations, and governance processes. Hands-on experience with ITIL-based service management, including incident, problem, change, and release management. Familiarity with security, privacy, and compliance requirements in healthcare IT environments. Strong track record in partner engagement and collaboration across clinical, business, and technical teams, as well as external partners and provincial agencies. Experience in budget planning and financial management for operating and capital projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:




Enterprise Systems Leadership


Provide strategic and operational leadership for all enterprise systems, including clinical platforms, corporate applications, and supporting infrastructure. Ensure system reliability, performance, and scalability to meet organizational and regional needs. Develop and maintain a skilled team capable of supporting enterprise systems and delivering exceptional service.





Interoperability & Integration


Lead initiatives to integrate enterprise systems with regional platforms (e.g., Traverse Exchange) and provincial digital health assets. Drive internal interoperability by ensuring seamless integration between existing clinical systems, corporate applications, and connected medical equipment. Establish and maintain integration standards and workflows to support secure, efficient data exchange across all systems. Collaborate with provincial digital health leaders and regional partners to advance connected care strategies.





Enterprise Architecture & Standards


Govern and maintain the organization's Enterprise Reference Architecture to guide technology decisions and ensure alignment with strategic priorities. Establish and enforce standards for system design, integration, and lifecycle management. Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that align with architecture principles and organizational goals.





Service Management & Optimization


Oversee ITIL-based processes with a strong focus on change management governance, ensuring controlled, documented, and risk-mitigated changes across enterprise systems. Manage incident, problem, and release processes to maintain system stability and minimize downtime. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance, user experience, and operational efficiency. Monitor service quality metrics and ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).





Financial & Resource Management


Manage operating and capital budgets for enterprise systems, ensuring fiscal responsibility and alignment with organizational priorities. Optimize resource allocation and capacity planning to support current and future technology needs. Negotiate vendor contracts and ensure agreements include appropriate SLAs, security provisions, and compliance requirements.





Collaboration & Partner Engagement


Build strong partnerships with internal teams, partner hospitals, provincial stakeholders, and vendors. Communicate effectively with clinical and business leaders to align technology initiatives with organizational objectives. Represent the organization in regional and provincial forums to influence digital health strategies and standards.





HEALTH AND SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:




Adheres to Occupational Health & Safety responsibilities under Section 25/26 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act including:


Advises a worker of the existence of any potential or actual danger to the health or safety of the worker of which the supervisor is aware;

Where so prescribed, provides a worker with written instructions as to the measures and procedures to be taken for protection of the worker; and Takes every precaution reasonable in the circumstances for the protection of the worker. Performs workplace inspections and investigations, remedies issues, and provides training/information to workers.


Monitors health and safety performance of workers and corrects/commends actions


Promotes a culture of safety which encourages prevention, reduces errors and safeguards patients from harm.


Completes the Ontario Ministry of Labour "Supervisor Health & Safety Awareness in 5 Steps" training and provides proof of completion.
