RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. Position summary
CANTRAIN is a national clinical trial training program (CTTP) in response to a call by the Canadian Institutes for Health Research (CIHR). Its vision is to offer the best, certified and standardized clinical trials\' training and mentoring program across Canada accompanied by Awards for Trainees in a real-world setting.

The position reports directly to the National Executive Director & Chief Operating Officer (National ED/COO) of CANTRAIN.

General Duties
The Manager of Awards programs at CANTRAIN will closely collaborate with the National Executive Director & Chief Operating Officer, to rapidly implement productive collaboration/partnership (private and public organizations) meetings/discussions.

The main roles and responsibilities of the Manager will be to:

  • Work at developing the multiple and distinct plans (applications\' guidelines) for the implementation of the three Awards programs (Master, doctoral and postdoctoral/Fellow) and their sustainability,
  • Drive the program within Canada for graduate and postgraduate students by enabling the support (financial) of the provincial health funds / research foundations, and other public / private organizations interested into collaboration and co-funding,
  • Engage with other CTTPs to join into CANTRAIN Awards\' programs,
  • Construct the evaluation grids specific for each awards based on CTTPs\' specificities and offerings,
  • Recruit, constitute and manage a national college of reviewers,
  • Implement the review process, chair the committee and compile all the scores and comments, share the average and summary to Applicants and their supervisors,
  • Coordinate the letters of offer,
  • Engage all awardees and their supervisors into CANTRAIN and other CTTPs\' learning and training programs,
  • Evaluate performance and identify ways the organization can expand and grow either of these programs.

Education / Experience

Education: Doctorate Degree
  • PhD and/or MD, with experience relative to the development and conduct of clinical trials and health sciences,
  • MBA, with experience in business development,
  • Multi-disciplinary skill-stack on the backs of academic & industry experience,
  • Knowledge of academic and industry standard.

Other requirements:
  • Demonstrated business acumen,
  • Very good French and English, spoken and written,
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
  • Ability to work independently or with teams with minimum supervision.
Additional information

Status: Temporary Full-Time (35-hour workweek) one-year contract which is renewable (the CIHR grant runs until March 2026)
Pay Scale: $66,484.60 - $123,468.80, commensurate with education & work experience
Work Shift: Flexible, usually from 8:30 AM to 16:30 PM
Work Site: 5252 de Maisonneuve, Position opened in Montreal, QC, reporting to CANTRAIN central office at the RI-MUHC/CORE
