We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join the CVRD in the key role of Manager \xe2\x80\x93 Asset Systems. Reporting to the General Manager, Corporate Services, the Manager \xe2\x80\x93 Asset Systems is responsible for the oversight and progressive delivery of the CVRD\xe2\x80\x99s Asset Management Program. Using innovative and proven approaches to asset management, the Manager \xe2\x80\x93 Asset Systems leads the development, implementation, and direction of corporate asset management across the organization, through collaboration with and in support of the various Divisions. This position is responsible for the development of asset management practices, policies, procedures, strategic objectives, and performance indicators, including oversight of the CVRD\xe2\x80\x99s asset management software and co-ordinating related funding allocations. This is a proactive, strategic, and collaborative role with emphasis on assessing, planning, and implementing asset management practices across the CVRD. Qualifications: As our ideal candidate, you are knowledgeable about asset management programs, policies and procedures, strategic objectives, and performance indicators, along with relevant provincial legislation and regional district bylaws. You have an in-depth understanding of project, contract, and risk management, and you have strong financial acumen and knowledge of property operations. You are a skilled leader, collaborator, communicator, and problem solver with a knack for research and analysis and the ability to present sound advice and guidance. You also possess the following qualifications:
  • Post-secondary degree in a related discipline such as finance, business administration, public administration, or technical engineering
  • Minimum 5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a regional district environment including experience in asset management and organizational leadership
  • Minimum 2 years\xe2\x80\x99 supervisory experience in a public sector unionized environment is considered an asset
  • Experience in multi-year, multi-stakeholder project management related to asset management
  • Relevant experience in asset management planning, policies, and program implementation, including the delivery of asset management skills training
  • Experience with Vadim and CityWide Asset Management software would be preferred
  • Asset Management training and / or designation from a recognized professional association, such as Asset Management BC, IPWEA, NAMS Canada, Canadian Network of Asset Managers, and / or PEMAC Asset Management Association of Canada
  • Project Management Certification considered an asset
  • Professional accounting or engineering designation considered an asset
  • Membership with Canadian Network of Asset Managers and / or PEMAC Asset Management Association of Canada considered an asset
  • Valid BC Class 5 Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered

Hours of Work: This position works 35 hours per week (Monday \xe2\x80\x93 Friday, 8:30-4:30) and is eligible for the CVRD\xe2\x80\x99s Flex Time Program. This position is eligible for part-time Work From Home consideration. Salary: The CVRD offers a competitive salary starting at $104,275.24 commensurate with experience plus a comprehensive benefits package including extended health / dental / insurance, pension, and paid vacation.
