Manager, Architectural Controls (edmonton)

Job Description


You are a strong communicator, administrator and have superior organizational skills. You have a thorough understanding of building code and building construction and have a high level of quality and accuracy. As Manager, Architectural Controls, you will ensure Builder submissions for single-family and multi-family homes adhere to the guidelines, provide comments, and visit sites to verify what was built was approved, in alignment with the architectural vision for our communities.

You will

  • Create architectural guidelines for new communities and manage the evolution of architectural guidelines for of existing communities.
  • Complete site inspections and visits to ensure that the architectural approval is adhered to.
  • Provide support and communication to residents regarding fencing and landscaping requirements.
  • Support Development Team in navigating various stages of the policy planning approval process, establishing Community Vision and development strategy
  • Lead compilation of Community and Architectural Standards document that supports overarching Community Vision document
  • Work with project team on development engineering details
  • Review builder Architectural elevations, Floor Plans and Site Plans for conformance with the Architectural standards document and any bylaws, and issue Grade Slip for municipal Building Permit application
  • Liaise with Builder\xe2\x80\x99s design team to ensure conformance with community standards
  • Facilitate any architectural programs implemented in the communities
  • Facilitate grading discrepancies that arise on residential lots
  • Administer Builder Security and Lot damage
  • Tour our communities and support development team in notifying the occurrence of any issues
You have
  • 5 years\' experience in a similar role at a design firm or in residential construction
  • Certificate or Diploma in Architectural Technology (preferred)
  • Excellent computer skills: MS Office
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A thorough understanding of Alberta building codes, standards and bylaws
  • Exceptional time management skills
