Nutrition International's Research and Development (R&D) Unit aims to tackle missed opportunities and unmet challenges and promotes an evidence-based approach to advocacy, decision making, multi-sectoral country planning, and the setting of nutrition agendas. We aim to address complex public health issues by breaking down siloes through research to advance global knowledge, driving evidence and innovation, and effective implementation of programs, building capabilities internally and capacity externally through partnerships in countries where Nutrition International works and enhancing Nutrition International's staff capacities to ensure high standards of research design and implementation. Manager, Anemia Integrated Actions
to be based in

About you
You are someone with a master's degree in nutrition, public health, international development, or a related field. You have at least 2-4 years of experience in nutrition, public health, or international development and working with governments in low- and middle-income countries, including stakeholder engagement and organizing national-level consultations. You have demonstrated experience in national-level anemia programs and knowledge of anemia-related interventions and public health issues.
You have a strong background in donor reporting, budget management, KPI alignment and in developing communication materials and policy briefs. You are familiar with anemia monitoring systems and multisectoral approaches (e.g., integrating education, WASH, social services) and proficient in project cycle management, strategic program development, and operational guidance. You have a solid understanding of policy development and translating evidence into action. Experience supervising consultants is a strong asset.
Fluency in English is required.
About the role
The Manager, Anemia, will support the Senior Technical Advisor, Anemia, in advancing regional and national anemia reduction initiatives that the R&D unit conducts. This role involves managing projects effectively, ensuring alignment with work plans, budgets, and timelines, and promoting a holistic, multisectoral and integrated approach to anemia reduction.
In this role you will:
Management & Administration
Draft Terms of Reference (ToRs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), contracts, and managing invoices.
Identify, onboard and coordinate with consultants, including weekly check-ins.
Track progress using Gantt charts and milestones.
Facilitate cross-team communication and maintain documentation of meetings, key actions, and follow-ups.
Coordinate with country teams to identify stakeholders and ensure their engagement through regular meetings.
Project & Grant Management
Align work planning with internal grant requirements.
Prepare annual and quarterly reports in line with donor expectations.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
Coordinate with the Senior Technical Advisor to review and finalize reports for submission.
Track and report on budget expenditures, including monthly budget review meetings.
Communication Support
Contribute to content development about the grant and its progress to stakeholders.
Develop briefs and communication materials to disseminate initiative results.
Occasional international travel to sub-Saharan Africa, and Southeast Asia. Travel typically lasts 1-2 weeks, not exceeding 20 days per year.
