To achieve this goal, the North Zone Addiction and Mental Health (AMH) department is seeking a manager for the Cold Lake / Bonnyville / St. Paul area. The successful candidate will report to the Director of Rural Addiction and Mental Health Services. The position is a member of the North Zone AMH Management team and will represent regional interests as assigned at various forums. You will contribute to the development of zone-level strategic goals, operationalizing them at a local level while adhering to provincial policy and standards, legislation, and best practices. The ideal candidate will have experience in addiction and mental health and bring progressive experience in a healthcare environment in an organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity. This position has been identified and is anticipated to transition to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. In accordance with the transition letter of understanding with UNA, current employees under the UNA Collective Agreement who accept an employment offer, issued after July 1, 2024, will not have any rights under Article 15: Layoff and Recall.Description:Reporting to the Director Rural Services, Addiction & Mental Health NZ the Area 8 Manager is responsible and accountable and responsible and accountable for providing direction, team leadership, planning, implementing and evaluating a range of addiction and mental health services, contributing to the development of zone level strategic goals and operationalizing them at a local level while adhering to fiscal realities, provincial policy and standards, legislation and best practice. The incumbent establishes protocols and linkages for service delivery, develops and maintains internal capacity and skill to meet regional service needs, provides management and leadership to interdisciplinary teams and builds/maintains solid working intra and inter regional partnerships to achieve the goals of this position. The position is a participating member of the North Zone Addiction & Mental Health Management team and will represent regional interests as assigned at various forums. The incumbent is responsible for managing human resources issues and conducting financial and budget processes. Developing and maintaining strong community relations to support strategic goals and to enhance capacity in the community is the responsibility of the manager. The Manager is responsible for the performance and results of staff within the area of responsibility. The Manager is responsible for building and maintaining rapport with contracted partners within the area and will also be responsible for ensuring ongoing contract oversight for relevant contracted services within the area. The manager will be knowledgeable in other manager\'s areas of responsibility so as to provide cover off as needed. This manager may be asked to support another area or program as determined by Director.

Required Qualifications:Masters or Baccalaureate Degree in a related health services field with 3-5 years experience. Education in management and a graduate degree is desired. Three years of recent direct care in the addiction and mental health fields in progressively responsible positions within inpatient and/or community mental health. Three years of supervisor or other leadership experience with demonstrated leadership skills and expertise. A combination of education, skills and experience may be considered.
Additional Required Qualifications:Experience in working in a management role and/or in the supervision of personnel with demonstrated supervisory/leadership skills and expertise. Demonstrated strong clinical knowledge and skills in the areas of addiction, mental health, and mental illness, along with consistent efforts to maintain a high quality of client focused care and service. Demonstrated success in providing services in community/rural/remote settings, ability to manage budget for program area, ability to lead staff in the analysis and resolution of challenging client care issues. Addresses staffing issues as they pertain to clinical functioning. Effective interpersonal relationship building skills, including conflict resolution. Strong problem solving and decision-making skills. Crisis management and emergency response skills. Organization, planning, program, protocol, procedure development and implementation skills. Accurate computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience managing a unionized workforce considered an asset. Experience working in rural and or remote locations.
