What's the ask?

Reporting to the Director, Health & Disability, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient

operation of administrative support team members on a day-to-day basis. You are responsible for coaching, resolving issues, managing workload, and serving as a link between the Director Health & Disability, Senior Service Consultant, Manager Group Disability Claims and your team of Intake Specialists, Disability Income Coordinators, Customer Service Representatives and Consultants.

Key responsibilities:

  • Developing measures and processes to maintain efficient work distribution and identify opportunities to improve services while working to achieve the department's objectives in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ensuring all client documentation (e.g. Policies, procedures, contracts, custom letters etc) are stored and distributed to all appropriate internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensuring timely renewal reviews of all client service agreements including having pricing reviewed by the appropriate internal stakeholders (e.g., Director Wellness & Disability; Benefits Consultant) within a minimum of 30 days prior to the contract renewal
  • Developing and maintenance of audit tools to measure accuracy, performance, and meeting client SLA
  • Ensuring clients are provided with accurate and timely reporting regarding payroll and claim invoicing
  • Ensuring practices and processes with respect to the mailing of communication materials to clients and employees adhere to strict privacy guidelines.
  • Special project management including oversight to our disability management system and processes including user and client guides
What does it take?
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a fast-paced Disability Claims Management Role Administrating Employee Benefits and Disability plans.
  • Previous supervisory/leadership experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Short- and Long-Term Disability Policies and Procedures for Disability Claims Management, record keeping, plan implementation and enablement, disability claim payments
  • Proficient with Microsoft suite- Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to build solid relationships.
  • Superior prioritization and multi-tasking skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills and ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Dedicated and organized, with demonstrated accountability and reliability in the quality and timeliness of work.
  • Up to date knowledge and expertise in Human Resources Management Principles (ESA legislation, Human Rights and Collective Bargaining units and process as they pertain to STD- Accommodation, Medical Leave and Absence Policy)
  • Knowledge of current Employment Insurance premium reduction policies and requirements as they pertain to the STD policy and practices
  • Knowledge of payroll requirements, including taxation rules, ROE requirements, and other government deductions and any impact these may have on STD payroll clients
  • Bilingual English and French an asset
