We are looking for a Manager with strong financial accounting and analytical skills to join our growing team in Toronto. In this role, you will have ownership over our growing portfolio of US externally managed real estate assets; you will gain a full understanding of the operations for this sector of our business. For this portfolio, you will be accountable for a diverse set of activities, including full cycle accounting and reporting, real estate performance analysis, certain aspects of sector level reporting and analysis, financial planning, and ad hoc support related to transaction activity.

As a member of this team, you will be responsible for:

Financial Reporting:

Overseeing the financial reporting for the US portfolio, including timely and accurate review of monthly results at the asset and for the US sector as a whole;

Overseeing the team's completion of month end activities, including review of third party reporting and completion of key indicator and variance analysis against budgets;

Acting as a key point of contact for our third party managers, including managing deadlines, regular communications and review of information provided;

Review property level financial statements ensuring consistent application of accounting standards in accordance with local GAAP or IFRS;

Review of statutory financial statements;

Assist in the execution of quarterly REIT testing;

Coordination of interim and year-end audits for various entities; and

Technical analysis to ensure appropriate accounting treatment for acquisitions and dispositions.

Financial Planning & Analysis and Operational Support:

Coordination, review and analysis of annual operating plans and quarterly reforecasts with our US asset managers and property managers;

Act as a key resource to the business and deliver value to stakeholders, including understanding and explaining key performance metrics for a portfolio of assets in the US;

Participation in the overall portfolio cash forecasting and distribution cycle;

Assisting with the execution of portfolio strategies related to the US portfolio investments, including supporting the investments team on the execution of transactional activity; and

Assisting the US asset management team with ad-hoc requests for information on the portfolio.

Process Innovation and Controls:

Onboarding new asset acquisitions and third-party service providers and relevant accounting processes for an active portfolio;

Lead special projects with a focus on continuous improvement and process automation to improve efficiencies in day to day responsibilities; and

Ensure compliance with Oxford's processes and controls.

People Management:

Lead, develop, and motivate team of professional accountants to deliver results.

To succeed in this role, you:

Have completed a University Degree, preferably in Commerce, Business or Accounting and obtained a Professional Accounting Designation (CPA);

Have minimum six years of experience in a related capacity with experience in a complex environment and a proven record of strong performance;

Continuous improvement mindset;

Real Estate industry experience strongly preferred;

Strong analytical, attention to detail and technical accounting;

IFRS and US GAAP experience is preferred;

Strong leadership and people managed skills;

Results oriented, acts with a discernible sense of urgency;

Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment;

Independent, self-starter, and works well in a team-based environment;

Able to work collaboratively and in partnership with other departments;

Excellent time management and organizational skills and the ability to manage conflicting priorities within structured deadlines and deliverables; and

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate and build relationships across all levels within, as well as outside the organization; and

Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint; JDE and HFM experience is an asset.
