Now Hiring - Manager, Accounting & Reporting

Reporting into the TMX Finance department, you will be an integral part of the team and responsible for planning and organizing accounting, reporting, and analysis activities for TMX Datalinx, the Information Services division of TMX Group Limited.

TMX Datalinx provides a broad range of real-time and historic data products and services to customers across North America and around the world.

A strong communicator, you will work in a global organization and will have the ability to collaborate and build relationships with diverse internal collaborators

Key accountabilities:

Business Unit Accounting and Reporting

  • Collaborate with Corporate Finance, Transaction Services, Finance Business Partners & Treasury teams to ensure accounting transactions are accurate and complete in the general ledger

  • Prepare journal entries and identification, data collection and processing of key accruals necessary to ensure completeness of liabilities and expenses

  • Prepare and/or review Balance Sheet accounts on a monthly basis and ensure any reconciling items are dealt with in a reasonable manner and time frame

  • Support quarterly reviews and annual audits with external auditors

  • Lead the quarterly and annual production of financial statements for relevant Datalinx legal entities and provide support updating quarterly consolidated financial statements

  • Research and collaborate with corporate accounting team on accounting issues, as required, and maintain current knowledge of accounting, legal, procedural and technology developments as they relate to the business unit

  • Use Workday functionality to identify and act on process efficiency opportunities in month-end processes



Integration and Other Ad-hoc Deliverables:

  • Support integration related activities for new acquisitions

  • Support the maintenance of a reliable system of internal controls over financial reporting to adequately safeguard the company\xe2\x80\x99s assets and provide with integrity accurate reporting on financial results and in accordance with the requirements for CEO/CFO certificationPerform ad hoc analysis and support the annual budget and quarterly forecasts as required

Customer Billing and Revenue Assurance

  • Subject matter expert related to billings process for Datalinx

  • Support the work with the Transaction Services, Tax and Datalinx Business Operations team to ensure accounting treatment of billing and collection transactions are accurate and complete in the general ledger

  • Coordinate the process to update the billing system into WorkDay Financials and accurately reflect any changes to processes in the system.


Required Experience, Skills, and Behaviors

  • University graduate plus a CPA designation is preferred

  • 5-8 years of relevant finance experience with strong analytical skills and strong understanding of accounting principles and practices for multi-currency, multi-company organizations

  • Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, and collaboration skills

  • Superior technical skills, including Excel (pivot tables, model building, model auditing), Google Sheets, ERP systems

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Ability to multi-task in an efficient, controlled manner

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing

  • Customer service orientation


Nice-to-have Experience and Skills:

  • Workday financial system experience a plus

  • Google Suite of Tools for Work (Sheets, Docs, Slides)
