Join the Client Operations sector where we support housing affordability through effective and efficient execution of financial transactions. You will be leading a team of 10-15 individuals responsible for accounting and ongoing delivery of payment transactions, including housing loans and contributions, payments to suppliers, and travel and expense. You will lead through change to support delivery of new housing programs and business transformation for accounting and payment process impacts. Your skills and passion for leadership, accounting operations and financial process improvements will support the delivery of innovative solutions that enable better decision-making, financial performance and efficiently supports CMHC\'s financial transactional needs.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the team\'s daily activities for effective and timely processing of payments, including Housing Program\'s loans and contributions, payments to suppliers, employee travel and expense reimbursements, lender refunds and other adjustments related to payments.
  • Oversee and maintain effective operational and compliance programs for payments, travel and expense reimbursements, purchasing cards and financial authorities, including implementation of effective internal controls and maintenance of related policies, guidelines and procedures.
  • Support delivery of new corporate initiatives and business transformation by coordinating activities, aligning resourcing, and improving services by providing new ideas, guidance and recommendations that influence process designs and lead to improvements in financial process effectiveness and/or efficiency.
  • Oversee process improvements, conduct change management and identify opportunities to stop, streamline or improve existing processes and activities.
  • Manage internal and external user expectations by providing excellent service, timely and effective feedback, functional guidance and advice on payment-related matters.
  • Align people, work and systems to achieve business process efficiencies and results.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree in a related field such as accounting, finance, business administration, economics or commerce.
  • Minimum of seven years of experience in managing accounting functions and leading others through change, including five years of supervisory experience.
  • Broad knowledge of financial legislation, accounting policies and procedures, internal controls and financial transactional processes best practices.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain financial information to a variety of audiences, and to influence and maintain effective working relationships at various levels of the organization.
  • Bilingualism (French and English).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
