The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Manager to oversee client engagements while also rolling up their sleeves to complete higher-level, complex financial and accounting work. This position is not only about managing and reviewing teams, it also requires being directly involved in client relationships and delivering controller/CFO-level work.
In this role, you will:
Lead and manage multiple client priorities simultaneously.
Build and maintain trusted client relationships as their primary advisor.
Take an active role in completing financial analysis, reporting, and advisory work at a high level.
Ensure our team consistently delivers exceptional financial outcomes and client service.

Key Responsibilities
1. Lead Client Engagements
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned engagements, developing strong client relationships.
Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a seamless experience.
Manage month-end close processes, including reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial results.
2. Deliver High-Quality Financial Outcomes
Prepare and deliver monthly financial statements, reporting, and analysis.
Take a hands-on role in completing more complex accounting and finance work (similar to a Controller/CFO).
Provide clients with actionable insights and recommendations to support decision-making.
3. Manage Internal Workflows
Coordinate team workload to ensure deadlines are met while maintaining efficiency and service excellence.
Identify and resolve workflow bottlenecks, ensuring smooth collaboration and delivery.
Maintain clear communication and accountability across the team.
4. Foster Strong Client Relationships
Develop long-term, trusted relationships with clients by acting as a proactive advisor.
Anticipate and address client concerns quickly to ensure satisfaction and value.
Provide tailored financial advice and solutions to support clients' evolving needs.
What We're Looking For
CPA designation (an asset).
Minimum 2 years of Canadian work experience (required).
Client Service Experience (required):
Experience working directly with clients in a professional services or advisory capacity.
Highly Organized: Skilled at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Self-Starter: Proactive, independent leader who can take initiative and ownership.
Client-Focused: Strong interpersonal skills, committed to building long-lasting client relationships.
Strong Financial Acumen: Deep technical knowledge of accounting principles, financial statement preparation, and month-end close.
Proven Leadership: Experience managing teams and coordinating workflows.
Tech-Savvy: Proficiency with cloud accounting tools such as Xero, QuickBooks Online, and related platforms is a plus.
