Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential care and assistance to a male individual in a home environment. This role requires a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for an individual receiving 24hour care. Shifts consist of three 12hr day shifts 8a-8p, every Friday, Saturday and Sunday

Duties

Provide prompting with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing. Support clients with meal preparation and ensure dietary needs are met. Administer medications as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition. Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment. Assist with mobility and physical activities, ensuring safety during transitions. Maintain cleanliness in the living space, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for clients. Document care provided and report any significant changes in client condition to the appropriate personnel. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs.

Qualifications

Previous experience in caregiving or support roles is preferred, particularly in senior care or assisted living settings. A current Code of Conduct with Vulnerable Sector check, Valid First Aid Certificate, resume with 3 references, TB testing, Immunizations and Medical Knowledge of intellectual disability care practices is highly desirable. Familiarity with medication administration protocols is an asset. Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities and provide compassionate support. Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families. A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and respecting client privacy at all times. Must be able to perform physical tasks associated with caregiving, including lifting or transferring clients as needed.
